Following John Feierabends curriculum of First Steps in Music, we will be singing, acting, dancing and creating music. We are literally creating a full-immersion musical experience that can be the ground work for further musical studies, both vocal and instrumental! We will be using dance to both express music and understand lyrics; we will explore both folk and classical music pieces. Additional experiences include acting with puppets & costumes; expressive dance with hand-dyed silk scarves and ribbon sticks; and beginning instrumental play on drums and pitched instruments (xylophones, glockenspiels, ukuleles where appropriate). Instructor: Hake Drumset Camp will be a week full of drum excitement! We will learn the basics of a drumset in rock and pop drumming and how to further your skills for playing with any type of group! We will learn how to read a drum chart, play along to music, and more. Music knowledge and experience are encouraged. There will be a beginner class and an intermediate class. The week will culminate with a performance on Friday afternoon where we will rock out as a group. *Players are welcome to bring their own drum kit. 2016 Camp Twitch & Shout - Camp Twitch & Shout
Camp Twitch & Shout is a one-week summer camp for children and young adults between ages 8-17 who have a confirmed diagnosis of Tourette Syndrome. The Leader in Training (LIT) program is for campers who are 17 years old and have previously attended Camp Twitch & Shout for at least one summer before. The LIT program is competitive and has limited space availability. Campers seeking a spot as a LIT will need to complete an additional application and interview following registration here. Those forms will be sent separately. When ALL spaces for Camp Twitch & Shout are filled, a Wait List is started.
