LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Football Camp K - 5th - SCDS
This football camp starts our young players with a love for the game and correct instruction to play the game. Young boys love to run and jump and play. Many of them also love to roll around and tussle. If you have such a boy, we would like to help him channel these natural inclinations into a love of the game of football, and to guide him in learning the fundamentals of how to run, throw, catch, kick, block, and tackle. Staffed by SCDS coaches and players the camp will guide youngsters toward an understanding of the basics. Campers will gain an understanding of football rules, terminology, and basic strategy. Each day will include individual instruction as well as competitive flag football games. Athletes of all experience levels are welcome and no equipment is required other than cleats/sneakers, athletic clothes and a willingness to play hard and have fun. Boys and girls will have a ton of fun in our Kid-on-the-Go Sewing Camp! They will learn to sew several fun items to carry all their necessities when they are out-and-about this Spring Break! Cost is $175, all materials included. Ages 8 & up. We have sewing machines and tools, but students are welcome to bring their own. Class takes place Tuesday-Friday, March 13-18 from 1-3 p.m. Projects: Drawstring backpack, zipper pouch, pocket wallet/change purse, and a sunglass case or tissue pack cover. Week 1 Elementary Camp - St. Timothys Lutheran Church & School
St. Timothys Lutheran School (STLS) Summer Camp offers weekly themes to create a unique learning experience for children entering Kindergarten – 6th grades. Our program includes a wide range of fun activities such as cooking, drama, music, story time, arts & crafts, math, science, and more. The themes will inspire and celebrate your childs imagination. Kodu & Logo Programming - The Evergreen School
Students will learn how to program their own computer games and simulations, using Microsofts Kodu interactive game development environment and NetLogo, developed at Northwestern University. They will design their own landscapes for their Kodu character to navigate, add apples to collect and score points, and much more in this visual, block-based programming language. Well learn NetLogo by exploring models of ant colonies, traffic simulations, and the theory of wolf-sheep predation. Then students will design their own scenarios and even create games by typing in simple text-based code. No previous experience necessary. 206-957-1533
Mariners (WAITLIST) M-F ($465 for 2 weeks, Members) - Nantucket Yacht Club
NOTE: Please only register for this session if you cannot select the dates on the Mariners M-F session you wish to have your child attend. Formerly Beginner Sailing. Please choose 2 weeks minimum. This class is taught in Rhodes 19s, Capri 14s, and Optimists. Mariners is designed to give the sailor a strong fundamental base of sailing skills such as rigging, tacking, gybing, sail trim, hiking, and some advanced boat handling. The overall goal is to make the sailor comfortable on the water in varying conditions, while eventually becoming proficient sailing alone in the Opti. Inside the Mariners class, we typically divide into three color groups: Forest Green (Novice), Lime Green (Intermediate Mariner), and Army Green(Advanced Mariner). As the child improves, they will advance through the groups until they are ready for Whalers. *Please note that the 2005 Mariner class is for those with a birthdate of 2005 or earlier. 508-228-1400
