This camp offers athletes of all skill levels an opportunity to train, develop, compete and take their game to the next level. Each week, campers will focus on a specific sport like fitness, baseball/softball, basketball, football, golf, hockey and soccer. Campers learn various aspects of sports including sports history, nutrition, health, philosophy, science, business understanding and popular culture. Special guest speakers and local field trips. Reptiles and Amphibians Day Camp - Harris Nature Center
For children going into 2nd and 3rd grade Snakes, frogs and turtles! Campers will be immersed into the habits and characteristics of reptiles and amphibians, including time with live animals. Camp will also include walks, crafts, games and stories. All campers will receive a free camp tee shirt. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * This program will take place regardless of the weather. * Campers must bring a sack lunch if staying for lunch with the counselors. * Lunch with the counselors is an additional $10. * Register before June 1st and receive a $5.00 discount. GAS Camp is for all of the kids who just cant get enough of games, sports and science. We will be playing games such as ultimate Frisbee, Handball, Splashball (similar to water polo), along with old favorites like soccer, basketball and volleyball. When our bodies need a rest we will use our minds to create simple machines and science experiments! Designed for campers who have completed grades 5-8. GAS Camp will run concurrently with MADD Camp. Bird Adventure Camp - Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Commission
The camp will explore subjects such as behavior, biology, science of flight, birds? jobs in nature, diet, husbandry, and the importance of conservation and biodiversity. Under close adult supervision there will be hands on interaction with real, live birds. Each day one or two different birds will visit camp. Camp will include education, scrapbook making, crafts, feedings and creative play. Please send a healthy snack with your child each day.
