Capoiera THURS (grades 3-8) - University City Arts League
Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance and music. It was created in Brazil mainly by descendants of African slaves with Brazilian native influences. It is known by quick and complex moves, using mainly power, speed, and leverage for leg sweeps. Students work on physical coordination, group awareness, and communication. Students are recommended ( but not required) to take both the Monday and Thursday classes to get the most out of this program. Important Notice from UCAL: At the end of your registration process through the Active system, you will be offered a 30-day free trial of something called the Active Advantage program. You do NOT need to register with Active Advantage to receive member discounts for UCAL programs ,and we do not recommend signing up for it. We are going to offer a limited aftercare program from 3 until 5:30. This will largely not be computer related, but more about enjoying some of the University of Utah campus - doing activities like bowling or games on the open spaces. I know this does not solve the problem for those enrolled in the Beginning Scratch camp ending at 11:45AM. Sorry. We will distribute a daily schedule so that you can pickup early if needed. A snack will be provided. Only for students in the Advanced Scratch, Super Scratch, or FIRST Lego League camps. Additional fees apply, please see the Dates or Registration page. 801-585-1726

Kevin Mcgeehans Summer Basketball Overnight Camp is a great opportunity for boys ages 8-18 to experience 4 full days of fun and basketball at Campbells beautiful basketball facilities. Campers will have the opportunity to participate in many team building activities, individual skill development, as well as compete in games against campers of their age group. The focus of our Campbell camps is always on fundamentals, teamwork, and enjoying the game of basketball.
