Middle School Teen Camp 2016 - Augusta, WV
The Theme this year is: LIFE IS MESSY! Registration for this COST FREE week of teen camp begins at 4:30 on Tuesday, July 5th. Activities for Middle School could include (but is not limited to) Boogie Bowling (with strobe lights), laser tag, basketball, carpet ball, ping pong, volleyball, bike riding (Middle School week, helmet required), waterpark, putt putting, water slide, water balloons, swimming, paddle boat riding, playing on playground equipment, softball, hiking, sharing bathroom & shower facilities with other campers, sleeping on floors in rooms at the Church building, worship and recreation,and traveling to activities. SAT 1/2 DAY ZOO CAMP - SPIDER MONKEYS 9-12 YRS - CHARLES PADDOCK ZOO
Come connect with the animals and learn what they like to do for fun! This exciting camp teaches the importance of enrichment. Enrichment is anything that encourages the animals to make choices, exhibit natural or species-appropriate behaviors. It also presents mental challenges for the animal, encourages physical activity/exercise and enhances their overall health and well-being. Our campers will discover what type of enrichment is best for each animal, create it and then watch the animal ambassador enjoy it! (if time allows, you can make your own take-home enrichment for the animals in your own backyard). Please bring a refillable drink container and a sack lunch. Snacks will be provided. We ask that campers wear closed-toed shoes while at the zoo. Pre-registration is required and can be done online at www.atascadero.org or by calling 470-3360. Saturday Theater - The Secret Case of Sherlock Holmes - Location: Center for The Creative Arts
A fully staged production with many levels of depth and humor in this clever mystery. Upstart detectives Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are on their first case. Their client, H.G. Wells has hired them to find a manuscript by Arthur Conan Doyle. Hiding from their angry landlord, Holmes and Watson duck into Wells time machine, and soon find themselves in the 21st century. They end up at the Freudly Institute where they meet inmates who believe they are George Washington, Marilyn Monroe, Tarzan, Emily Dickinson, Lizzie Borden, Count Dracula, and Queen Victoria. Holmes is thought to be just another patient and Watson is his doctor just playing along. When a murder happens on the grounds, Holmes sets out to uncover the clues, while trying to prove he is the real Sherlock Holmes.
