After an less than desirable experience with a camp who shall remain nameless, we were a bit leery about sending our boys off to a new summer camp. However, when we discovered that Cedarbrook was centered around our same values and those values informed all the activities we took the leap of faith and glad that we did. Swim, Tennis and Flag Football Camp - Community Services Department - City of Palo Alto
Please sign up early for our popular tennis, flag football & swim camps held at Palo Altos Rinconada Park and Pool. Participants start each day with a tennis lesson 10-11:30am from the staff of Tennis program. Following tennis, the participates will eat with swim staff to eat from 11;30 am until 12:30 pm in the Rinconada Park. Following lunch the participates will head out to the field to engage in flag football from 12:30-2:30 pm with the Skyhawks coaching staff. After Skyhawks flag football, the participants will head over to the Rinconada Pool where they will enjoy swimming lessons, water games and be supervised by our lifeguards. Cost includes tennis lessons, soccer lessons, entrance to recreation swim, and supervision. Participants should bring a bag lunch, tennis racket, bathing suit, sunscreen, comfortable shoes and a towel each day. Ages 8-12. Pre and Post Care will be available before and after this camp. Kyles karate offers an after school care program that will first and foremost engage your child in a safe, fun, and exciting class at Westminster school teaching basic skills suited for this age group with absolutely NO student contact. Kyles karate will develop your childs confidence, hand eye coordination, and concentration. Your child will gain improved motor skills, balance, and focus! Through physical activity in the form of exciting martial arts. Respect, and listening skills round out the comprehensive program. Prerequisite: Opti Green Fleet/instructor recommendation Students will work on more advanced boat handling techniques, including roll tacks and jibes, and will be introduced to more racing tactics, strategies and techniques. Sailors will learn what it takes to progress to the next level of Opti racing and will be expected to compete in local Opti regattas where Red, White and Blue fleets are formed by age. Having your own racing level Opti is an advantage at this stage and students are encouraged to bring their own boats. All students will be under the supervision of our race coach in class and at specific local regattas. Last summer we supported and coached our sailors in 7 local day-long Opti regattas and expect to support about the same number of events this year. Regatta fees are not included. 860-535-9362
