Where: NDP main gym About: NDP girls basketball camp teaches young players the fundamentals of the game. Those new to the sport will learn the skills of ball handling, shooting, passing, rebounding and defense, while more experienced players will be challenged to further develop their competency in those areas. While great focus is paid to individual skill work, ample time is devoted to a variety of competitions. Running the camp is NDP coach Kathleen Offer, who played collegiately at Yale and has coached in the Fighting Irish program for eight years. The entire staff, which includes current NDP girls basketball players and coaches, is dedicated to challenging the campers to the best of their ability while they have lots of fun with old and new friends. Please note our new cancellation policy. A 50% fee of the cost of the camp shall be applied to an individual who cancels. CAMP DETAILS Fractured Fairy Tales Week In our Fractured Fairytale world, students will learn how to adapt traditional fairytales using unexpected characterization, modified points of view and bizarre plot development. Working as an ensemble well then dramatize our new fractured fairy tale using music and movement. Working alongside one of our professional teaching artists students will also play fun theater games and learn how to develop characters for the stage. This camp aims to cultivate creativity and give participants experience of creating their very own theater piece. Children spending the full day with us should bring a sack lunch for our lunch break at the park Musical Theater Week Thank you for the music! In this camp, students will have fun exploring their own personal voices through songs and dances from various musicals! In addition to drama and improv games that foster theater skills in creativity, self-expression and teamwork, campers will create their own show that incorporates songs from their favorite musicals.
