Join us for a fun-filled day experiencing an interactive storytelling adventure about the myth of King Midas! Each student will decorate a golden mask and participate in recreating the story. Students will also learn about Turkey and the cultural traditions of the land where King Midas once ruled. We will also explore the rich and colorful patterns of Turkish tiles, and each student will design and decorate their own tile to take home. A mid-morning snack will be served. Choice indoor and outdoor activities will be offered, as well as a walk to Taney Park, weather permitting. Please pack a lunch (including a beverage) in a disposable bag. For the safety of our students, please DO NOT INCLUDE PEANUT BUTTER or any nuts in your childs lunch. The program will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with drop-off available in the yard beginning at 8:00 a.m. (at no extra charge). **Extended day is available from 3:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. for an additional $20. A late-afternoon snack and choice activities will be provided. Pick-up time is 3:00 p.m. for the regular program and 5:30 p.m. for the extended day. Inspired Artists - Brookwood School
This camp uses famous artists and illustrators as inspiration for creating artistic masterpieces. Campers will enjoy learning about artists such as Renoir, Degas, van Gogh, OKeeffe, and Picasso before creating their own impressionist paintings, clay sculptures, self-portraits, large flower paintings, and cubist compositions. We will also examine works of childrens book illustrators and create collages and paintings in their styles. Inspired Artists will be led by Brookwood Schools after-school instructor extraordinaire, Marleen Wood. She ties together her love of art history with her passion for encouraging children to create art. 978 525 6244

An individual camp designed to take your game to the next level! This camp is designed to motivate a committed player and give them the tools and foundation to dramatically improve their game! We recommend this camp for girls that have at least 2+ years of playing experience. All basketball activities will take place in the Stegeman Coliseum Practice Facility that our current players use on a daily basis! Where: NDP main gym About: NDP girls basketball camp teaches young players the fundamentals of the game. Those new to the sport will learn the skills of ball handling, shooting, passing, rebounding and defense, while more experienced players will be challenged to further develop their competency in those areas. While great focus is paid to individual skill work, ample time is devoted to a variety of competitions. Running the camp is NDP coach Kathleen Offer, who played collegiately at Yale and has coached in the Fighting Irish program for eight years. The entire staff, which includes current NDP girls basketball players and coaches, is dedicated to challenging the campers to the best of their ability while they have lots of fun with old and new friends. Please note our new cancellation policy. A 50% fee of the cost of the camp shall be applied to an individual who cancels. Little Stars (July 25) - The Little Theatre of Alexandria
This camp is a special introduction to acting that gives each child a chance to shine! Whether your child loves to do "shows" in your living room, or you wish they felt more comfortable expressing themselves, in this camp every voice is heard. We use creative movement and fun acting games that boost confidence and help build the body-mind connection. With a camper to caring counselor ratio of 4:1, there is a lot of individual attention. Confidence grows as children share their ideas and impressions, working collaboratively on their skit. Each week there are improv games and fun activities that help with concentration and observation skills. During the week campers sing and tell some jokes onstage, build a shoe box set, and paint the scenery for the show. Each day campers practice and prepare for their skit on Friday. We laugh a lot! INSTRUCTOR ROBERTA MASTERS-CULLEN has been teaching childrens classes and camps at the Little Theatre for seven years. She is a member of the Screen Actors Guild specializing in radio and television voiceovers, and has been a television news anchor and reporter.
