Kid's in the Kitchen Camp - Mays Landing, NJ
Our fourth week of cooking camp is for our 8-13 year old age group. In this 5 day fun filled camp, kids will visit the very places where food come's from and that's not the frozen food isle of the grocery store. Each day, we will explore the very places where beautiful, delicious, healthy food comes from. Then, it's back to the kitchen where we will create yummy dishes with the products that we learned about. Kids will have totally hands on experience both in and outside the kitchen. They will learn about nutrition, sustainability, responsible food sourcing along with basic cooking techniques, safe food handling, basic knife skills, recipe reading and so much more. Classes will be Monday thru Thursday from 8am-2pm with a fun cooking competition on Friday where the kids will cook for the parent's and compete for titles like most creative, dish, best knife skills, best use of cooking techniques and more. Price-$250/student Each student will receive Hands on experience learning age appropriate techniques for preparing and cooking all types of food. Free Summer Horse Day Camp for Kids, Week 8 of 9 - Lacomb, OR
This is not your typical day camp! Kids learn how to get big jobs done and earn big rewards through our framework of barn, garden, and community activities. Our mixture of work, learning, and play develops character, leadership, and real-world skills. Kids start the morning cleaning stalls and doing other jobs, then have a well-supervised fellowship lunch, then ride or do other horse activities in the afternoon. For the kids that are interested in doing other things doing the horsemanship time, we have interesting building or maintenance projects as well as gardening. Sometimes we have someone come share an aspect of their career, or we will go on a field trip to a business, and sometimes we need to go pick up hay or other donations as part of the camp day. Toward the end of the day as parents arrive, we usually do a short devotion that gives kids the chance to tell how they illustrated a positive characteristic that day. Parents and kids should attend a 90-minute tour and orientation prior to enrolling, you just call us and schedule a time. Kiddie Cat T-Ball 2015-16 (K3, K4, & K) - St. Lukes Japonica Campus
Games played on Sunday afternoon. This is a six (6) week session. Time depends on number of teams - 1st group at 2:00, 2nd group if needed, at 3:15. Boys will receive a t-shirt and ball cap, girls will receive a t-shirt and visor. Players may wear shorts or baseball pants per coach decision, and regular tennis shoes will be fine. Players should provide their own bat and glove - YDL provides helmet to use, but you may provide your own if you so choose. Students will create artworks inspired by the techniques and ideas of famous illustrators, painters and writers. We will study the works of Maurice Sendak, Hokusai, Frida Kahlo, Dr.Seuss, Kandinsky, Shel Silverstein, Mary Blair and more. Students will explore many materials and art techniques such as ink, textile art, collage, watercolor, colored pencil, stamping, and mixed media. All skill levels welcome. Materials are included.
