The Kidn Me camps are designed for children from age 5 -18 and a parent or caregiver. This class will cover the basics of simple bead stringing. You will learn to make earrings using wire head pins, beads and pre-made earring hooks. You will design a simple bracelet and learn to finish it with crimp beads and a clasp. Simple necklace styles will be presented and you will design and finish one with your choice of clasp! In this rigorous, half-day camp, youll learn the form and style of the test--which was completely redesigned as of March 2016--as well as the essential content and strategies for approaching each question on the critical reading and writing portions of the SAT. You will learn how to recognize the types of questions asked on the reading passages, become a more critical reader, and identify the evidence on which your answers are based. For the writing section, we will review the most commonly tested grammar rules and skills as well as learn and practice what it takes to write an outstanding essay, which is now optional and follows a completely different format from the previous version of the SAT. Youll leave this camp with the confidence and skills to make your best score yet on critical reading and writing! (An SAT book will be provided.) Instructor: Pamela Howett () Room: D-5 In this engaging class students will draw favorite undersea animals, including dolphins, sea stars, clownfish and more while learning fundamentals of art. Our fun projects are geared towards developing drawing skills within each class, as well as encouraging individual creativity and expression. While many of the projects are guided, each student works with his or her own vision and produces a unique finished piece.
