Typing Club - Valle Verde Elementary
Room: B-7 Instructor: Sabine Kroeber Students learn typing skills using an online keyboarding program. Emphasis will be on teaching desirable keyboarding techniques, mastery of the keyboard and development of speed and accuracy. We will also practice how to apply keyboarding skills in real life situations: Typing and formatting in Word, creating word art in Wordle, and putting together a simple PowerPoint presentation. We will tour the keyboard and learn about lesser known keys like the tilde and carat on a keyboard treasure hunt! Returning students can continue to build their speed, while new students can lay the foundation for great typing success. Summit Football July 25-29 - Summit School
Summit Football July 25-29 Rising 3rd, 4th & 5th 9am-2pm Campers will learn fundamentals to be successful in football. The morning will focus on drills to improve throwing, catching, running, kicking, punting, as well as offensive and defensive positions. The afternoon will be filled with flag football games to put all of the fundamentals together. Campers would be encouraged to bring sneakers, cleats, shorts, hats, water bottles and a t-shirt. Mr. Mihalko was part of two high school championships and one national championship at the University of Notre Dame under Lou Holtz. The winning is not the focus of this camp. This creative class is perfect for art lovers! Draw, paint, and sculpt every day as we tackle new projects. Explore the basic techniques of art while enhancing creativity and self-expression. *Please note: Students who are registered for a morning and afternoon camp within the same week are invited to stay for FREE supervised lunch and recess between 11:30 am-12:30 pm. Seattle Preps girls lacrosse camp will be a great opportunity for 6-9th grade players of all abilities to build strong fundamental skills, learn strategy, gain confidence on the field and have fun. The camp will immerse each player into a focused and fast paced environment to maximize improvement. Skills that will be emphasized include, passing and catching, shooting, ground balls, draws, offensive and defensive strategy, midfield transition and goalie play. The camp will be hosted by Prep Varsity Coach and former collegiate player, Lyndsey Gillis. Lyndsey teaches in Preps Arts department during the academic year, while also directing the womens Seattle Starz Club Lacrosse Program year-round.
