It's no secret we're a Tulane family. Both my husband and I graduated from the college and would love our daughter to be a legacy. The Ripples Day Camp was a perfect way to introduce her to the campus and all it has to offer. She became an excellent swimmer and is already talking about training to be a counselor next year. Our Kids's art camp is back...and during Summer Break! We provide all the supplies, your child's inspiration and step-by-step instruction of the featured art. At the end of the event, kids will go home with their very own superhero masterpiece of choice. Our event will be hosted by Beth Cline and $20 includes supplies and Instruction. Rise Up Florida High School Retreat November 6-8, 2015 Word of Life Retreat Center Hudson, Florida Join us as we welcome the band Lost & Found to join us for Rise Up Florida as one of their last stops on their farewell tour. This event is for both those who attended the Gathering and for those who were not able to attend. It will equip and re-ignite those who were at the Gathering to "bring the Gathering home" and to provide a feel of the Gathering to those who were not able to be there. Utilizing some of the resources, video and music from the Gathering and adding in some of our own, we will encourage youth to examine their story and the story of their community and congregation and to explore how God might be calling them to tell His story and affect change where they see injustice. 2nd Session - Fencing - YSCP
Fencing captures the imagination of kids of all ages, but it requires a trained, experienced instructor to learn safely and correctly. The Young Scholars Fencing Program is being run by the coaches of the Central PA Fencing Association. Coach Wes Glon, the Head Coach of the PSU Fencing Team personally trains and hires the coaches for this program. Coach Chuck has 40 years of fencing experience and has been part of the CPFA programs since 2006. Your child will learn the basics of sabre fencing with an emphasis on sportsmanship, safety and history. We make the learning experience fun and rewarding for the students. /GOALS: Month 1: - Fencing History: Olympic sport since the first Olympics in 1896, difference between Saber, Epee & Foil, French sport - Safety rules (fencing is one of the safest sport) - Basic footwork: advance (movement forward), retreat (movement backward) & lunge (movement to reach) focusing on the balance - Description of the Saber, parts of the weapon, how to hold it. - Footwork, coordination games Month 2: - Introduction to the gear: glove, mask, jacket & saber - Target area: 3 different area to cut: mask, flank & chest - How to cut using... 8142379727.0
