Day camps are offered by local community centers, schools, youth groups, and some times by the local sports or arts centers. An 8 year old girl would really enjoy a program that provides a good combination of creative arts classes, like pottery, drawing, and active workshops, like yoga and dance. You also want to make sure that she gets exposure to some team sports and swimming, as these activities develop very important skills for her development....

• During this engineering design process, students will explore Bernoullis Principle, as they build various types of aerospace vehicles, and discover Newtons Law of Inertia. Students will also study the Earths moon, gravity, moon phases, tides, and rocketry. • STEM Challenges: Design and Build an airplane that will travel 15 feet; Design and build a telescope. 4439286772.0

Come out and learn Cheerleading under the direction of an multi award winning coach and NCS Varsity squad. Coach Amanda Beery has led her team to FCC National Championships, coached girls to win Individual and Team performance awards. During this week of camp campers will learn skills that emphasize proper form and as well as safety. Stunting: Starting with low-level skills such as thigh stands and progressing to semi-advanced stunts. Tumbling: Cartwheels, handstands and round offs. Those with a solid tumbling background will work on back handspring technique. Motions: Learn all motions and the names for each arm placement with a focus on sharp and properly executed technique. Cheers: Cheers will be taught to the participants, implementing the skills learned at camp Dance: A dance will be taught utilizing the needed to excel in cheer dance. New Horizons Summer Day Camp is open to ages 5-11 only. Each week will feature team sports, arts and crafts, daily swim lessons, individual sports, fitness activities, a special event and a trip. ALL campers are carefully supervised by Recreation professionals with a ratio of 5:1 or better. Camp meets from 8:30am-4:30pm. Pre-care and after care will be available under separate registration shortly before camp begins. This weeks theme is THE BEST OF THE BEST? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY: If cancellation is made prior to April 15, 2016, a full refund, less a $25.00 processing fee, will be made.
