LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Day Camp 1 - Denton A. Cooley Pavilion
Campers are taught all aspects of the game. A typical day at camp includes station work with emphasis on fundamentals such as shooting, passing, footwork, defense, rebounding, and ball handling. We also have a variety of contests, drills, league games, and a tournament at the end of each camp. Throughout our camps we put a special emphasis on our core values, Appreciation, Enthusiasm, Competitiveness, Teamship and Accountability. With appearances from our Texas Mens Basketball coaching staff and players, our campers get an inside look at what it is like to be a part of an elite division one basketball program. Sport camps and clinics conducted by The University of Texas are open to any and all entrants. Enrollment is limited only by age, grade level, gender, and capacity restrictions as specified by each camp. Please note that NCAA guidelines prohibit payment of camp expenses (e.g., transportation, camp fees, spending money, etc.) by a representative of The University of Texas athletics interests. NCAA rules also prohibit free or reduced camp admission for prospects (7th grade and above in mens basketball). Sorry, no camp scholarships available.

AMP Camp Session 5 - SCDS
Would your children benefit from an early introduction to the upcoming middle school curriculum? Then the Amp Camp is just what they need. The Amp Camp, led by SCDS Middle School Learning Specialist, Mr. Benjamin Ford, will help set your child up for success. During Amp Camp 6th, 7th, and 8th grade campers will learn how to implement specialized study strategies to help them be more confident and better prepared for middle school. Each student will gain insight on how to be more organized and thoughtful about their study habits while also getting a jump start on the best way to engage challenging concepts and content. Amp Camp is a great way to help students prepare for their re-entry to school. Amp Camp is open to SCDS and non-SCDS students. The National Academy of Athletics volleyball camps offer beginner to intermediate players the opportunity to build a solid volleyball foundation. Learn a new skill and develop a new hobby this summer! Each camper will have the opportunity to work with a variety of tools and materials and every boy will be provided personal guidance while working on two to three individual projects during this special one-week tutorial session. A variety of wood project ideas and wood species will be offered. Possible projects may include constructing a bookshelf, birdhouse, wooden clock, jigsaw puzzle and carving a bowl or candleholder on a wood lathe. Woodworking experience is not required, only a desire to learn new skills. This specialty camp came into being at the request of campers and parents and has limited enrollment available for instructional purposes. We have envisioned this workshop to have the following goals: 1. To provide a hands-on course that initiates the learning of a new skill during the summer and the development of a lifelong hobby. 2. To learn basic carpentry skills and the proper use of a variety of tools. 3. To encourage pride in ones work and craftsmanship through projects that a boy wants to take home.
