Have you ever wished you knew how to sew? Learn sewing machine basics and how to embroider decorative stitches in this fun half-day camp. We will emphasize process as well as product so that students become confident stitchers. Students will work in small project groups to create interesting and functional items that reflect their personality. Everyone will sew and embroider their own pillow, a fabric-covered notebook, a tote bag, earbud caddies, and more. Students will also take home an embroidery sewing kit and project patterns. Summer Camp Reunion Weekend - Paige, TX
We just love seeing our campers and their families return to the village in February and March to enjoy Sherwood Forest Faire, and obviously a great part of that is when campers encounter each other! This year, for the first time, we would like to have an official "Reunion" for our Youth Campers and Adult Campers alike to help facilitate that. Both events (which will be separate, because we don't want the Adult Campers teaching the younger ones bad habits) will take place during weekend #2, Feb 20-21. Mark your calendar! Arbys No Kid Hungry Campaign - Hope Mills, NC
Arby's is doing it again for the third year but at Arby's location. This year we will be holding different event at the Hope Mills Location to raise money for the No Kid Go Hungry Campaign from August 18 -September 28, 2015. Since 2011, the Arby's Foundation has been a national charity partner of Share Our Strength*s No Kid Hungry* campaign (NKH). As NKH's largest quick service restaurant partner, the Arby's Foundation has raised over $5 million in the past two years to support NKH and other hunger-fighting organizations in the communities that Arby's serves. Activities are plan as follows. Daily Business Spotlight From August 18 -September 28, 2015 Vendors will check in with the manger of the store and set up in designated area Arby's will have a business spotlight section where the vendors can set up there displays. Music Camps - Composition Camp - MacPhail Center for Music - Minneapolis
Calling all young composers! Heres a camp for you to meet other young composers and share your passion for creating music. Gain the tools you need to grow as a composer. Study the works of living and historic composers to understand how other composers think and solve problems. Receive coaching from MacPhail composition faculty on recent and current works. Hear your compositions performed by professional musicians. You will be asked to submit a score for review prior to the camp. Space is limited, register early! Students in the Composition Camp may opt to also enroll the in the optional Composition Camp Elective: Theory and Counterpoint for an additional fee. C: Performance One - TitO Gate House
For students ages 9-11 who are interested in more of a performance challenge, we offer our 6-week Performance Class. Participants in this class will be involved in a full-scale production, from auditions to set building to opening day. Mates (WAITLIST) T,TH ($260 for 2 weeks, Members) - Nantucket Yacht Club
NOTE: Please only select this session if the weeks you would like your child to attend are not available on the Mates session. Please choose 2 weeks minimum. A class designed to introduce young children to sailing. Students will sail in a 14-foot sailboat, with three to four other children and one instructor. The class is a fun introduction to sailing with the goal of having students become comfortable in small boats. Specific skills include basic concepts of sail trim, steering and overall safety. Creativity and Imagination Camp - Piedmont High School
Students will create artworks inspired by the techniques and ideas of famous illustrators, painters and writers. We will study the works of Maurice Sendak, Hokusai, Frida Kahlo, Dr.Seuss, Kandinsky, Shel Silverstein, Mary Blair and more. Students will explore many materials and art techniques such as ink, textile art, collage, watercolor, colored pencil, stamping, and mixed media. All skill levels welcome. Materials are included.
