My kids were able to experience a lot of different things at Camp Tecumseh this summer. They have the usual camp activities, but they also have rock wall climbing, archery, riffly, tube slides, a nature center, candle making, disc golf, fishing and a mini farm. Trout start to bite as nighttime weather cools, salmon season opens in the rivers, and crabs are still legal to catch and are growing to size. Whether you’re an experienced angler or new to fishing, come join us for an exciting week of fishing at the very best spots in Western Washington! Learn the basics of rod/reel and fly fishing with our seasoned instructors and try your luck at various sites such as the Puyallup River watershed, North Cascades mountain lakes, and the Salish Sea. Target fish include trout, salmon, steelhead, bass, surf perch, flounder, sole, dogfish shark, dungeness crab, and many more. Shining Stars - Musical Theatre (July 11) - The Little Theatre of Alexandria
This camp gives young performers a chance to experience being in a theatrical production, focusing on individual and group creativity while working collaboratively as a team. Students will play theatrically based games and work hard on learning and rehearsing for a show. This camp also allows students to experience the rehearsal process and is a great way to prepare them to be a part of a full length play or musical in school or in the community. The campers will participate in a musical through learning songs, dances, and scenes for them to perform as a whole by the end of the session. INSTRUCTOR MICHAEL PAGE has been teaching theater for 8 years and has been choreographing in local community theaters for the past 10 years. He recently received a BA in Theater and Dance from Christopher Newport University. He currently works as a Music and Movement Teacher at VHBC Preschool as well as teaches classes at LTA, Mount Vernon REC Center, and Browne Academy. He teaches private acting, dancing, and guitar lessons from his home. You will receive instruction in iron play, woods, putting, short game, sand shots, mental attitude, tournament play and conditioning. Your training will include the same fundamentals and techniques as those taught to the great golfers who have played at BYU, including Johnny Miller, Bobby Clampett, Keith Clearwater, Mike Reid, Rick Fehr, Pat McGowan, and current PGA Tour members Mike Weir and Daniel Summerhays.
