Volleyball Camp, Grades 5-9, Licensed - Longmeadow High School
Join Coach George Mulry and his players at this high energy, skill packed camp. Players will learn the fundamentals and techniques that make the LHS program so successful. Drills and play will focus on the basic skills of volleyball including serving, passing, hitting, setting, blocking, serve-receive and defense. Players of all levels and positions are encouraged to attend. Campers should pack a peanut free lunch and water bottle daily. We will teach you to use a special pyrography (wood burning) tool and to draw designs, patterns and texture into wood, leather and dried gourds. The ancient Greeks called it writing with fire. After the design is burned in, shading and coloring can be added. You will discover the art of printmaking, how to use a printing press, carve linoleum blocks into stamps, and create a masterpiece using natural items and a collagraph abstract print.
