2nd Annual Youth Campout - Middle Fork Wildlife Mgmt Area
Bring your kids, grandchildren, nieces, nephews. WFBCHU 2nd annual youth camp. Friday, September 18: Check in 5 pm. Ride at 6 pm. Hobo dinner assembly upon return from ride. Leave No Trace demonstration during dinner. Guitar music and sing along. Hobo dinners and smores provided by Chapter. Saturday, September 19: Creakfast cooked and provided by Chapter. Service project if applicable. AM ride. Lunch on your own. 2 pm Ponies on Parade. Decorate your horse with animal friendly paint, glitter, ribbons, feathers, etc. We will lead decorated ponies through campground. PM ride if desired. First aid demo. Dinner hot dogs, chips, pork n beans provided by Chapter. Scavenger hunt 7 pm. Campfire smores and music. Sunday, September 20: Breakfast provided by Chapter. Ride. Good byes. Theater Basics Camp - Garner Performing Arts Center
(Ages 5-11) Each summer, The Towne Players of Garner partner with the Town of Garner to provide a four-week summer theater camp. Children will learn theater basics, which they apply to the summer show, Seussical The Musical, Jr The children join with the teens during the final week of the camp to rehearse their featured numbers in the show. Week 7 PM - Keelboat Adventures - NESS
Keelboat Adventures is a perfect fit for those kids who want to learn to sail on bigger boats. Our 23 foot Sonar will take these students all over Fishers Island Sound. A NESS instructor will be onboard while students learn how to work as a team to get this boat cruising. Theme: Fairy Tale Adventures Silly characters take to the stage! Through improvisation, special guest artist workshops, art projects, theatre games and rehearsals, campers will learn the basics of acting. Along the way they will discover new ways of collaborating with peers and the joy of performing. Past workshops have included stage make-up, choreography, singing, yoga, and swordplay! Mariners (WAITLIST) M-F ($465 for 2 weeks, Members) - Nantucket Yacht Club
NOTE: Please only register for this session if you cannot select the dates on the Mariners M-F session you wish to have your child attend. Formerly Beginner Sailing. Please choose 2 weeks minimum. This class is taught in Rhodes 19s, Capri 14s, and Optimists. Mariners is designed to give the sailor a strong fundamental base of sailing skills such as rigging, tacking, gybing, sail trim, hiking, and some advanced boat handling. The overall goal is to make the sailor comfortable on the water in varying conditions, while eventually becoming proficient sailing alone in the Opti. Inside the Mariners class, we typically divide into three color groups: Forest Green (Novice), Lime Green (Intermediate Mariner), and Army Green(Advanced Mariner). As the child improves, they will advance through the groups until they are ready for Whalers. *Please note that the 2005 Mariner class is for those with a birthdate of 2005 or earlier. 508-228-1400
