Phunky Physics - Vasona Lake County Park
Use hands-on science to learn the fundamental principles that guide just about everything that happens in the world around us. Play with physics while making objects that roll, slide, bounce, fly, and make unusual sounds. Conduct experiments using electricity, heat, light, magnetism, and more! Chorus Camp - Greensboro Day School
Chorus Camp $185.00 Rising 5th-8th June 27-July 1 8:30am-2:00pm Campers will learn the basics of a choral rehearsal and perform in a choral concert at the end of the week. They will sing a variety of music from many genres including pop, theatre, classical, and even a song in a different language. Campers will also have the option of taking a private voice lesson throughout the week to perform a solo song for their fellow campers. Boys and Girls Ages 7 - 17 Instructor: Richard Coatta, RC Golf. Location: Silver Lake Golf Club, 2602 W. Walton Blvd., Waterford, Mi. Learn the basics of golf including, putting, full swing, short game, rules and etiquette from teaching professional and head coach at Oakland Community College. Classes are small and offer individual attention. Range balls, 9 holes of golf, gifts and lunch included each day. Beginners and advanced golfers are welcome. Kayak Fishing Camp - Week 5 - The Greenwell Foundation
Kayak Fishing Camp is for children ages 8 – 12 (by first day of camp session). This camp combines two of the favorite activities at camp – kayaking and fishing! The week begins with a lesson on the water learning kayaking skills with a certified instructor. The campers will then have two opportunities during the week to be on the water, combining these two skills – and hopefully catch some fish! With help from a member of the Maryland Saltwater Sport fishing Association (MSSA), campers will have on-land instruction learning how to tie lures, cast a line and what fish can be found in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Friday, the campers get to choose if they want to fish or go crabbing from the boat launch or fish from a kayak. In addition to all the fishing and kayaking, campers will also have the opportunity to do archery, field games, crafts and get wet with water games. Each afternoon, campers are provided an afternoon snack and each week a chance to make Smores. The week ends with Tye-Dye Friday for a take-home memory of the week at camp. The Details! Join Mrs. Wilson for a 3-5 mile intense hike in the beautiful CVNP. Be ready for strenuous trails by wearing sturdy hiking shoes or boots and carrying a water bottle. Eat a good breakfast for energy and stamina. We will be on the bus promptly at 9am to be able to get back to school in time for lunch. Bring rain gear and be ready for some serious hiking fun. Ages 9 and above unless Mrs. Wilson gives written permission to a younger child who is capable of these hikes. Instructor: Holly Wilson, BS, Old Trail School Grade 4 teacher and former national park volunteer *Optional Backpacking Adventure Add-on to Trekking Camp After a week of trekking, some students might want to do a little backpacking trip. Students can meet at Brandywine Falls Friday at 5pm and hike 4 miles to Stanford Youth Hostel for an overnight campout. Pick up at Stanford Youth Hostel at 10:00 am on Saturday morning. Camping cookout dinner and breakfast will be provided. Students bring and carry their own backpack, sleeping bag, camping mat to sleep on, dishes, utensils, and clothes.
