Learn the Royal Game the fun way! At Chess Camp, every hour is informative, and yet avoids the dryness of rote instruction. We provide boys with interactive lessons, individual matches, helpful principles, and much more than simply playing games for hours on end. Whether learning the game for the first time or looking to master it, boys ages 6-13 can enjoy the Game of Kings and all of its auxiliary benefits, including logic, prudence, patience, forethought, evaluation, and analytical skills. Most importantly, all activities will take place in a fun and enjoyable environment under thoughtful and cheerful instruction. 2016 Teen Safe Driving Camp - Forsyth, GA
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office, in cooperation with the Georgia Public Safety Training Center, will be holding the 9th annual Safe Driving Camp for ages 15-17. The one day camp will teach new drivers about the consequences of distracted driving, the dangers of driving impaired, tips for defensive driving, skid recovery techniques, safety at railroad crossings, and demonstrate important vehicle maintenance practices. The camp will take place at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center from 9:00am until 4:30pm on Saturday, July 23, 2016. Anyone wishing to attend must complete the application and return it to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office either in person or by mail. Deadline for applications is Friday, July 01, 2016. Applications may be picked up at the Monroe County Sheriff's Office during normal business hours. Space is limited.

Reverse (Grades 8-12 by Fall 2015) - Blue Grass Christian Camp
Back for its fifth year with some great new additions! Evenings will be filled with classic activities we all know and love--swimming, sports, challenge courses, campfires, Spirit-filled worship, along with some new extreme activities--while each day will be spent in service to the communities that surround us. Weve teamed up with local programs in and around our city of Lexington to embrace the young, love the marginalized, and serve the disadvantaged. Each day is filled with opportunities to be the hands and feet of Christ (and weve also thrown in a few suprises!). Come to Reverse and get your camp fix, but, more than that, come prepared to be shaken and shaped by God through an experience that challenges you to fix your focus on something and someone outside of your self. 8592635239.0

How does stuff break? To answer this question, students investigate how stuff is made and in doing so, will break stuff! Destructive and nondestructive tests will be conducted to investigate catastrophic failures such as bridge collapse, airplane structural failure, containers that leak, pipes that burst, and electrical failures. Advances in materials are at the core of significant technological advances, and we are in a materials revolution today! Students experience a hands-on introduction to materials science, engineering, and technology, joining researchers who push boundaries further than ever before, using biology, chemistry and physics to expand our technological frontiers. Learn to groom, saddle and ride and gain experience with safe handling techniques. Swim, canoe, learn about God and make new friends. Participate in Bible studies, campfires, gaga ball and more. Does your child love science? And love to cook? This course is where cooking meets science! In this session, the campers learn about the science that goes behind cooking. But not all recipes are edible! The children will make lots of fun putties and slimes too! From growing yeast to building a radio out of a fruit to baking the yummiest science of all! The children will learn that their kitchen is filled with wonderful products that create some very explosive, gooey, slimy, fun and delicious science! We will build some unique items with basic things from our kitchen, make silly putty, arctic slime, and even play dough with your own scented design. Students build a sandcastle without ever stepping foot on the beach! They also change the properties of chocolate to make their very own chocolate bars! With some basic scientific knowledge, your child will learn to build a battery out of a pickle! Have your child join us for an educational experience that isnt just delicious, its also fun!
