I supposed if you're going to a summer camp it should be in a beautiful setting. Camp Togowoods doesn't disappoint! My daughter and her BFF had what they called a "super awesome fun time" at the camp this past summer. This summer they volunteered for kitchen duty. The PowerHouse regional youth conference will return to Camp Mack again this year, providing a weekend of worship, workshops, music, recreation, and more for senior high youth in the Midwest and their advisors. The Church of the Brethren BVS and Workcamp staff will provide leadership for the weekend on the theme "Plug In: to God, each other & the world" based on 3 John 1:13-14. CAMP DETAILS Fractured Fairy Tales Week In our Fractured Fairytale world, students will learn how to adapt traditional fairytales using unexpected characterization, modified points of view and bizarre plot development. Working as an ensemble well then dramatize our new fractured fairy tale using music and movement. Working alongside one of our professional teaching artists students will also play fun theater games and learn how to develop characters for the stage. This camp aims to cultivate creativity and give participants experience of creating their very own theater piece. Children spending the full day with us should bring a sack lunch for our lunch break at the park Musical Theater Week Thank you for the music! In this camp, students will have fun exploring their own personal voices through songs and dances from various musicals! In addition to drama and improv games that foster theater skills in creativity, self-expression and teamwork, campers will create their own show that incorporates songs from their favorite musicals.
