First Stage Theatre Academy - Omaha Community Playhouse
First Stage Theatre Academy is a two-week intensive that immerses students in the art of Theatre. Since 1997, over 900 students have participated in the First Stage Academy. For two weeks during the summer, students work intensively with professional directors, musicians, and choreographers. Mornings begin with a daily group warm-up, followed by classes in voice, movement and dance, acting, improvisation, scene study and playwriting. The Explorers Day Camp offers five weeks of old-fashioned summertime fun, designed to develop campers curiosity and creativity through weekly theme-oriented sessions. Each week, Explorers will participate amazing activities designed by GFSs own LS art teacher Heather Chu Marvill and ASP Art Coordinator, Joli Harnish. In addition, campers will enjoy science, cooking, nature, and sports-related activities. The GFS campus will serve as the primary location for exploration and skill-building. Half-day field trips to nearby cultural destinations provide opportunities for hands-on learning and discovery.
