We invite you to help shake off the deep winter doldrums by joining us for a fantastical event for the dicer, strategist, gamer, and lover of shiny things in all of us! Fimbulwinter might be kept at bay if we show how much we enjoy each others' company while we play and make merry all through the wintery day and into the night! Classes for period games will be taught throughout the day, and yes, we are looking for folks to teach their favorite period dice, bone, board, card, chance,and other games! The Cuil Cholium Game Library will be present, with multiple boards for Nine, Six, and Three Man Morris, Checkers, Chess, Mancala,etc as well as binders with rules and instructions for all these games and more.

Star Wars® FAB LAB! - Universalist Unitarian Church - Arlington
Star Wars® FAB LAB Projects & More! - Ages 6 - 9 Build to your hearts content in this all-day workshop. In the morning, design beautifully detailed Star Wars® vehicles and power them with a LEGO® motor, battery pack and gears. Students experience the excitement of a motor - how this device can transform a stationary object into a moving one. Projects include the Millennium Falcon, Reys Landspeeder, R2D2, X-Wing fighter, and Snow-Speeder. Students construct the motorized projects, then customize the design, and play with and share ideas with other campers. Builders are sure to have the force with them in this camp! In the afternoon, students learn the principles of engineering including the use of beams, columns and trusses as they build with the KNEX® system. Well design a skyscraper and bridge and even build a motor-powered car to drive over the bridge. Other projects include amusement park rides such as a spinning swing and a ferris wheel. Are you ready to live like a Greek God? Well, maybe not quite THAT great, but we WILL be experiencing how the Ancient Greeks lived, in the spirit of the Percy Jackson books! Camp participants (DemiGods) will create maps, Wear Greek clothing, play capture the flag - Greek style, write names in ancient Greek, make banners recognizing their own unique abilities, eat the food of the Gods of Olympus, and battle it out to the death with hand made Greek weapons! (Of course, we will just be acting-no actual deaths will occur.) If you are worthy, you will be chosen to join the DemiGod Day camp. 480-833-7338
