Santa Monica Sports Experience for Boys and Girls ages 8-14: A unique sports camp for kids who enjoy concentrating their energy on sports activities, action-packed tournaments and innovative organized games. Our goal is to stimulate a love for sports in youth of all athletic abilities. This spring break, participants will have the opportunity to visit the Santa Monica Swim Center as well as other exciting excursions, skills clinics and special events. Youth Development Summer Camp Car and Truck Show - Concord, NC
The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office, Youth and Development Division, will be hosting a Car & Truck Show on Saturday, April 16, 2016 with all the proceeds going to benefit the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office Youth Development Summer Camp. The Youth Development Summer Camp provides At Risk Youth in Cabarrus County with a week-long camp experience. This year, we will be expanding our summer camp experience to include three, 1 week sessions that will impact over 120 At Risk Youth in Cabarrus County. During a typical week of summer camp, At Risk Youth interact with police officers in a positive learning environment. Some of the camp activities include bowling, fishing, mini golf, swimming, along with trips to the zoo and local movie theaters to name a few. Interlaced within these activities are structured lessons which teach about the dangers of bullying, internet safety, gun safety, peer pressure, and drug abuse. In today’s society, now more than ever, we need positive role models for our youth. The School Resource Officers of the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office are effective, positive, motivational, role models for these At Risk Youth. PLEASE COME OUT ON APRIL 16TH AND SUPPORT THIS WORTHY CAUSE.
1st Event of 2016: Oblivion - Columbus, IN
Something that has been toying with the New Sanctuary for a long time finally gets down to brass tacks. Big changes occur in the world, new horrors appear, bad stuff happens to good people, and the smart folks will bring their own in-game light sources. This is a full weekend long immersive LARP experience. The price is $60 for players who will need to bring sleeping bags, toiletries, extra socks, costumes, weapons, spell packets, and extra badass to withstand a weekend of imagination and adventure. Meals in the tavern are an additional cost, but hearty and well worth it. NPCs pay $15, and don't need to bring costuming. Their admission fee covers their meals as well. NPCs need to bring dark clothes they can move in, sturdy shoes, extra socks, sleeping bag, and toiletries. We ask that people try to get to the site by 8 so that they can have time to get into costume and go through registration before lay on at 10. We will be able to arrive on site as early as 3 PM. Using LEGO® bricks, campers will design and build structures and space vehicles for living on far away planets. Campers will utilize a variety of LEGO® bricks including motors, gears, lights, and sensors. Space Engineer includes instruction on the Earth, Moon, stars, and planets as well as the scientific topics of force, friction, simple machines, and gravity. Campers will also join the crew aboard the International Space Station (ISS) to learn about propulsion, friction and more. Counselors will assign specific projects each day that include: a rotating satellite, space buggy, a stunning spaceship, terrestrial homes that can withstand alien atmospheres and a host of other exciting projects. Campers will work in teams to complete their missions. Our camps are 9am-4pm with pre and post camp options available as well!
