LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Fairytale Storybook Production - Barn Second Floor
Storybook Production is a NEW program developed for young performers that combines a classroom experience and a production! We will develop our own individual characters and create a storyline together, including scenes, songs, and dancing. The production will be based on their favorite Fairytales. Instruction will include basics of vocal projection, stage movement, line memorization, character development and ensemble work. This class is a great introduction to stage acting and a way to help build self confidence, feel part of a supportive community and build performance skills. This program is designed for students age 4-1st grade. Performance will be held in our Performance Center May 6th at 5:30pm. Dress Rehearsal will take place May 5th 4:30-6pm. I have reserved 30 scout and 10 adults slots. We have time to adjust, but the sooner we get this nailed down the better. I will have a sign up sheet for the next Pack/Den Meeting next Thursday for all those interested in going. There is a fee for this $243/Scout and $115/Adult. We do get a free adult admission for every 6 Scouts that go. At the next Committee Meeting we will discuss how we want to ration that out, either by need, or reduce everyone's cost equally, etc.

This camp is for experienced campers who have been playing Minecraft. Minecraft™ has taken the world by storm with its block-building, digital game design that allows players to build, explore, create, collaborate, and even survive. With no set rules, you can build anything you can possibly imagine. During this 5-day adventure, campers will learn different modes of playing. My name is Amanda Wilt. I will be the martial arts instructor for the YSCP Extended Day Program. I am a 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I am both a teacher and a student of TKD. As most of us know, learning is something that is year round and a never ending practice. I would like to tell you a little about myself, so you may know me better. I received my B.S. degree in Special Education at Bloomsburg University (K-12). After college I taught through the CIU #10 and was placed in classrooms throughout the districts. I taught in Philipsburg-Osceola, Park Forest Middle School, and State College H.S. (9th/10th grades). Although I loved teaching, I made the difficult decision to stay home and homeschool my children when they arrived. I began my martial arts training at the age of 14 and started my children at Youngs Tae Kwon Do School in Bellefonte, PA when they were elementary age. They both attained the rank of black belt before they left to continue their studies in college. I was also an assistant coach for the Bellefonte H.S. swim team for 4 years.
