Wondering how to keep your kids entertained and engaged during Thanksgiving Break? The Vail Rec Department has you covered! School's Out Camp is from 7:30 to 5:30 on November 21, 22, and 23. Participating kids (kindergarten through 5th grade) will enjoy a variety of activities including sports, gym games, playground play, arts & crafts and group games. Youth Camp Fundraiser - Lexington, VA
This is a fundraiser to help send our teens to a Youth Weekend Retreat at Eagle Eyrie in October. All money raised will help with travel, lodging and meal expenses. 4-H Teen Summit - Session 3 - Nancy, KY
Kentucky 4-H Teen Summit is held annually at the Kentucky 4-H Educational Center in Jabez, KY. The conference is for youth who are currently enrolled in 6th, 7th, or 8th grades. This program is designed to develop leadership, citizenship and communication skills in youth. While at the conference, all participants get to learn in fun and educational workshops taught by members of the Kentucky 4-H State Teen Council. The conference also includes motivational speakers that get young people excited about leadership. The cost to attend is $115 which includes meals, lodging, and transportation. BLA WABASH WRESTLING MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMP This camp provides our youth wrestlers the opportunity to learn not only the fundamental skills of wrestling, but the same cutting edge technique shown to our older campers. 5th-8th Grade Summer Basketball Camp - Kittery Community Center
This camp is aimed at the more experienced player looking to improve on his/her skills. This camp will be instructed by Traips Varsity boys coach Jeremy Paul, and varsity girls coach Scott Blake. Those who attend will enjoy learning the fundamentals of shooting, ball handling, rebounding, passing, defense, and team play. In addition you will have some fun and challenging competitions, a basketball camp t-shirt, a continuing basketball workout schedule for when the camp is over, and excitement. Please bring a lunch each day. The price of this camp is $130 for the first child and $200 for a family, and includes a T-shirt. This camp takes place at the Kittery Community Center. PM Animation Film & Motion Graphics for Teens 7/5 (ages 13+) - Ah Haa School for the Arts
Students will learn the art of putting imagery in motion as they explore a variety of techniques, including traditional stop-animation, claymation, hand-drawn animation, digital film and computer graphics like titling and film effects. Our distribution point will be digital with an emphasis on showing completed stories to a collected audience of family and friends. Students are encouraged to explore creativity in storytelling with a variety of media, such as clay, photos, natural materials and groups of actors. We will work with equipment on hand, such as iPhones, iPads, digital cameras and laptops. Daily demos and exercises educate young storytellers in technique, theory and history of the motion media. Students benefit from access to accounts with social media such as Instagram, Flipagram, Vine, iMovie, Garage Band, Soundcloud, YouTube, Vimeo and more. Elem Super Scratch Week 3 - Merrill Engineering Building
We cannot get enough of Scratch and neither can our campers! This week-long 9AM-3PM day camp for entering 5th, 6th, and 7th graders (note the year older shift from the other Scratch camps) is a follow-on to the Beginning and Advanced Scratch camps. This camp looks at even more advanced topics and dives into more complex projects, finishing with a chance for participants to polish their projects under the guidance of our experienced instructors. Attendees should be enthusiastic about Scratch, self-motivated, and able to handle the longer day. Students should have completed the beginning and advanced camp prior to taking the Super Scratch camp or had some equivalent training. This camp runs from 9AM-3PM. Lunch is provided. 801-585-1726
