Be introduced to two incredible sports that will keep you fit, focused and balanced! Give your body the boost of energy it needs by refreshing your senses and having fun on the ocean. Explore Stonington Harbor on stand up paddle boards, while stretching, relaxing and testing your core balance. Ride the crystal clear waves of Rhode Island during surf class. No previous experience is needed, but an interest in the ocean and being active is a must. This class is perfect for new or returning students. School Newspaper (5 & 6) - TBD
Students will create a school newspaper that may include sections such as jokes/riddles, short stories, poems, other types of creative writing, student led staff interviews, school news/events, illustrations, etc. The end result will be a published newspaper that the students will administer to the student body and staff. 609-298-6900
2016 NOVA Fishing Camp - Gunston Community Center
This week with Virginia Fishing Adventures offers campers the opportunity to learn beginner and intermediate tactics for freshwater fishing in nearby private ponds and rivers. We have access to some excellent private waters where campers are assured success. Our counselor-to-camper ratio is 1-to-5 to allow for one-on-one instructional time each day. Campers may also earn their fishing merit badge through this program. Safety is our number one priority, so campers will wear life jackets when in the water or on a boat. Virginia Fishing Adventures provides all bait and tackle, rods and reels, life jackets, and good times. Open to boys and girls ages 8-14. No experience necessary. 804-272-6362
On Stage Visual Arts - Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center
Using the Youth Theatre season as inspiration, students will explore painting, drawing and various art media. They will enjoy developing authentic self-expression while exploring story lines, history and production themes with class artwork exhibited during each show. GEMS World Academy Chicago (PK-2nd Grade) - GEMS World Academy
Take advantage of this window of opportunity and give children a head start by providing them the opportunity to learn Mandarin Chinese. We will learn in a fun, interactive and enjoyable environment by discovering Mandarin Chinese through songs, arts and crafts, games, and dances. In addition to learning daily conversations, we will learn about culture and celebrate holidays. This class will end with a big show at the end of the school year!!! 773.609.5492
Wet & Wild Summer Games - Old Trail School
Campers will have fun playing indoor and outdoor games including: sack races, limbo, water balloons, parachute play and more. Campers should bring towels and swimsuits daily for wacky water games and swimming in the Old Trail School pool. We will round off the week with a bowling party, ice cream sundaes and snow cones.
