LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Week 2 Day Camper - Rose Lake Youth Camp
Our always popular Day Camp is a favorite for many children ages 4-13. This session runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Wednesday through Friday. The cost includes breakfast, lunch and a snack. This is a great introduction to camp life and activities and focuses on the all-time favorite camp activities of swimming, archery, hiking, songs, kayaking, gaga pit, bouldering wall, crafts, and games. Depending on the age and abilities of our youngest day campers, some activities may be adjusted or modified to be age appropriate. Day Camp has an optional Thursday overnight, allowing children to get a taste of resident camp. The Thursday Overnight includes dinner and an evening snack. Children will enjoy campfires and special events and games not offered during the normal Day Camp day. If you would like your child to participate, please indicate this option on the camp registration and there is no additional fee for the Thursday Overnight program. The minimum age for the overnight is 7 years of age. Balance and Harmony is happy to announce our first summer yoga camp for children ages 3-5. This camp will introduce your child to basic yoga poses and breathing exercises through story, songs and games. Each class will also include a creative activity that reinforces our yoga practice. Children will bring a packed snack and we will enjoy time outside at Wait Park. Taught by Sherry Wolfson. Sherry holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a 200 hour Yoga Teaching Certificate. She began teaching preschool and special education over 30 years ago and has taught yoga to preschoolers at Childswork Learning Center in Portalnd for the past 3 years. Classes will be held for 5 weeks (July 1st - 29th) on Wednesdays from 1:00-4:00. Fee-$150 for all 5 days. Increasing physical activity helps school age children to live a healthy lifestyle. Bike4kids is an annual event that helps school age children get their first bike to get them started on a postive path. Football - Seattle Preparatory School
The Seattle Prep Varsity football coaches will be hosting a youth football camp for rising 5th-8th grade students, July 5th-8th, 1-4pm daily. The camp will feature drill and technique work designed specifically for the young athlete to build a foundation that will lead to years of success on the gridiron. The camp will feature varsity coaches and players in a fast-paced, fun, and competitive structure that is tailored to any skill level. We will focus on the fundamental skills of stance, footwork, hand placement, shed, safety, and angles for all defensive positions. Offensively, we will cover stance, footwork, hand and head placement, blocking techniques, ball security, throwing, receiving, and explosive running back techniques. Our staffs goal is to provide each camper with a fun and exciting week of football. Most importantly, we will teach a winning attitude that will enable each camper to become the best individual and team-player they can be. New head football coach, Aaron Maul and his staff have a great deal of experience working with youth, high school, and college athletes.
