Children's Yoga Camp: August 22-26th For children ages 7 & up, tweens & teens welcome! All yoga experience levels welcome! Yoga is very beneficial for children's overall health and development. While the emphasis is upon mobility and agility for the younger ages, gradually the postures are improved and perfected. Join us for a daily quickly-paced playful class of yoga asanas (postures), yoga story time about sages, postures, and ethical precepts of yoga (yama and niyama) that will enrich children's understanding and experience of the background of yoga followed by an art and writing activities that will reinforce learning of the sanskrit (the language of classical yoga, which is taught and practiced in the yoga asana class) and english translations of the classical yoga posture names and elements of the names. The class will close with some restorative yoga postures and a chant in Sanskrit to come full circle. We will also learn and practice poses that are soothing for stomachaches, poses that help with headaches, those which help for sore necks and backs after lots of studying and school work, and much more! Wednesdays 2:00 - 3:00pm Refund policy: If you decide to cancel your childs registration, we can offer you a full refund if you contact us to cancel before the date of the second class. If you cancel after that date there will be a $15 fee. Low enrollment: "Take My Word For It!" occasionally has to cancel a class due to low enrollment. (The minimum number of students varies from school to school). Typically we will meet on the first date while continuing to promote the class. Volleyball Camp: Middle School - Piedmont Middle School
This middle school volleyball camp focuses on individual player development and teamwork. attention is given to technique, skill and confidence so each camper improves as a volleyball player and develops a love for the game. All skill levels welcome! Sarah brings an extensive background in indoor and beach volleyball. As a junior in college she played for the Cals Indoor Volleyball team as an outside hitter and defensive specialist. Entering her senior year at UC Berkeley, Cole plans to finish her degree in integrative biology and continue her volleyball career as a current member of the Cals Womens Beach Volleyball Team. She is a AAA rated sand volleyball player and has coached for Presentation High School, City Beach Volleyball Club, Cal Summer Camps, and Piedmont Middle School. Participants should wear appropriate clothing, gym shoes, and knee pads; please bring a snack and water. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This camp is intended for students entering 6th - 8th grades. Students of all artistic levels can develop their creative techniques in this week long camp. Tuition includes all meals, lodging, instruction, art materials and camp t-shirt.
