Cultural Summer Camp at The CAKE Village - East Dundee, IL
INVITE FRIENDS WHO MAY BE INTERESTED. The CAKE Village African Culture camp is an immersive cultural experience. It's a great way for both Heritage learners and non-heritage learners to expand their knowledge of specific ethnic group from various parts of the African continent. Our goal is to foster a cultural connection to the chosen African ethnic group and enhance cultural awareness, appreciation and heritage esteem in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. All classes are taught by native speakers of the respective ethnic group. Culture camp is designed for children 6 year to 14 years and is held once a month from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm on Saturdays. This camp is open to students aged 14-18 who are interested in learning the basic techniques of passerine bird banding, and in examining the scientific reasons for tracking birds of all kinds. Students should have a demonstrated interest in birds to apply; see the Braddock Bay Bird Observatory website for details. This event is sponsored by Braddock Bay Bird Observatory as part of its education program.

Theme: Rainforest Rangers ETC Beginnings camp offers an enriching theatre experience for your preschooler to learn basic acting skills, as well as how to use their bodies, voices and imaginations to create exciting characters. The day is filled with circle time, improv games, arts and crafts, outdoor time and rehearsal for our big show at the end of the week! Note: Preschoolers must be potty trained. Interested in letting your creativity run wild on stage? Then choose Improv this summer! Improvisational theatre (Improv) is any unscripted theatrical performance. Each day will be filled with fun stage games and activities including scenarios made popular by the TV show Whose Line is it Anyway? and many more. Young children love to dance. Its a great way for us to work out and connect as a class. Were dancing all week! There are some fun specific dances that are traditional to some other parts of the world. Were discussing basic geography and other countries.
