Sunshine Family Expos returns to Tampa in March with its Kids Fest & Summer Camp Fair. In 2017, we have expanded the event to 2 days, moved locations to triple its size, and added more activities! (Ages 4-7) Our youngest artists will have an exciting time becoming printmakers. Students will engage in group activities designed to promote teamwork and creative thinking through the creation of a collaborative class project, will make their own stamps and printing plates, use an etching press and have a stomping good time with Miss Marjorie! Storytellers (Ages 4-7) Storytelling helps students improve their language skills, instills a love of reading and stirs imaginations. In this first-time class, talented professor of visual art Jennifer Pepper will guide students through painting, drawing and mixed media activities based on a variety of classic and contemporary children’s stories. Sculpt This! (Ages 8-12) Students will explore sculpture by examining the distinct ways artists have explored 3D forms throughout history. We will examine a variety of materials used by sculptors and learn techniques that artists use to communicate their ideas and feelings in three dimensions and get inspired to create their own! Make your own movie starring the sea animals of NESS. Learn how to properly take video, edit and produce a 3 min short movie on an iPad using the location of NESS and its animals as subjects. Finally present your video during the NESS Film Fest at the end of class. 860-535-9362

Penguins, walruses, polar bears, whales, and many more animals love the winter! Do you? Discover some of the amazing adaptations animals have to survive in freezing conditions. Simulate penguins holding eggs, experiment with the color of polar bear fur and skin, investigate the warmth of blubber, and learn more about the animals who thrive in the ice. 860-535-9362

There are multiple ways to enjoy saltwater fishing and children in this beginning level class will be introduced to many of them. Participants will fish from powerboats as well as from local fishing piers and seawalls. They will be taught how to identify different types of fish, how and where to catch them, and what types of bait and tackle to use. All equipment and bait is provided, but all fish caught will be released. The goal is not to bring home dinner, but to enjoy the sport! 727-864-8288
