Winter Thaw Youth Retreat - Stroudsburg, PA
BRING YOUR YOUTH GROUP ... WE'LL DO THE REST! Just as winter thaws and gives way to spring, a winter retreat for youth groups is offered to challenge your youth to remain strong in their faith and continue to turn to Jesus Christ for direction and comfort in the middle of the school year. An awesome speaker and terrific worship band will help make this weekend spectacular. Participating youth groups must provide chaperones for this retreat. Register by December 31, 2015 to receive a free t-shirt. After this date, t-shirts may be ordered.

Chad Garrett will be here all day from Ohio entertaining from acoustic, to karaoke, to being our DJ for the evening. Programming with Alice - British International School of Charlotte
Alice is a fun, innovative, and educational software from Carnegie Mellon Institute, designed to expose students to object-oriented programming. Using a gallery of 3D characters and scenery, Alice allows students to learn fundamental programming concepts in the context of creating animated stories, movies, simple games, and even virtual pets! In Alice, 3-D objects (e.g., people, animals, and vehicles) populate a virtual world and students animate the objects and program social interactions between characters. In Alices interactive interface, students drag and drop graphic tiles to create a program, where the instructions correspond to standard statements in a production oriented programming language, such as Java, C++, and C#. Alice allows students to immediately see how their animation programs run, enabling them to easily understand the relationship between the programming statements and the behavior of objects in their animation. Sciencecraft - Middle School
This Minecraft-based camp focuses on general scientific principles and how they relate to the world of Minecraft and to the real world. Lessons in botany and biology will teach about the plants and animals that live and grow in Minecraft. Discussions about mineralogy and geology will explore the various gems and crystals found in Minecraft and explain how landscapes are made and formed. This camp also focuses on real life creatures such as Wolves who roam across the game world, just as they do in the real world. Counselor in Training (CIT) - New England Frontier Camp
The CIT Program is the capstone of the camping experience for young men. For decades, the CIT program at New England Frontier Camp has challenged young men physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually to refine and build their character. They are pushed and challenged in ways designed to grow their strengths and overcome their weaknesses. Our CITs will build leadership experience into their lives that they can carry with them into manhood. The program is a five week program, consisting of two weeks of Pre-Camp training with the staff, and the first week of summer program with some intensive activies and projects. CITs have the opportunity to acheive Red Cross certifications in Lifeguarding and First Aid. Then, during sessions of the summer camp program, CITs are placed in limited program activities and closely observed by the senior staff. Part of our goal with this program is to produce young men who are capable to go on as Junior Counselors and Senior Counselors. 2079256735.0

Sammy Slug Summer Camp, Session #8b, Half Day - Youth Programs
Sammy Slug Summer Camp is offered by the Office of Physical Education, Recreation & Sports (OPERS) for boys and girls entering 1st through 6th grades. Based at the East Field House, this camp is offered in one-week sessions June to August. There are half day and full day options, and pre-camp and post camp care is available. Throughout the week the 5 camp tenants which are Responsibility, Respect, Leadership, Sportsmanship, and Team Building are reinforced and integrated into the curriculum. Camp activities include a variety of sports such as basketball, tennis, frisbee, and soccer; outdoor recreation such as hiking and swimming; and other arts, crafts and outings to keep the campers engaged, active and creative. With a camper to staff ratio of 10:1, the camp focuses on creating a safe environment with a program designed, implemented, and staffed by experienced recreation professionals and UCSC students. All staff are screened through a criminal background check, certified in First Aid/CPR and trained in safe practices. GRADES 1st - 5th LOCATION East Field House
