Mondays, 3/7, 3/14, 3/21, 3/28 and Wednesdays 3/16, 3/23 and 3/30 In this class, the student will be introduced to the craniosacral system of the human body, comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. The emphasis in Craniosacral Therapy is to help resolve the trapped forces that underlie and govern patterns of disease in both body and mind. This involves the practitioner "listening through the hands" to the bodys subtle craniosacral rhythms to detect patterns of inertia or congestion. With this light touch modality – generally using only 5 – 6 grams of pressure – the practitioner can evaluate and treat restrictions in the craniosacral system offering relief to the client who suffers from migraines, autism, central nervous system disorders, chronic neck and back pain, stress, fibromyalgia and so much more. Did you know physics, biology and chemistry are part of our daily life? This class will explore the many ways these sciences impact things you do every day. a qualified instructor will lead participants through various experiments and activities to gain first hand knowledge of the impact science has. Threes (M/W/F) (birthdays between 9/1/12 and 8/31/13) - JCC ECP
Daily activities for children who are in the three-year-old program are based upon projects and units of study that are interesting and meaningful to those children. A balanced schedule provides experiences in group and individual settings and includes stories, music, language experiences, natural discovery, and inquisitive discussions that include research. Classrooms are arranged into centers that include educational toys, materials, and games based upon age appropriateness and the interests of the children. These include centers for books, blocks, sensory materials, art, puzzles and manipulatives, math, science, and dramatic play. Children have the opportunity to work and play in these centers individually, with a friend, or in small groups. Choosing centers provides practice in making decisions, following directions, working independently, and learning about the care and use of materials. Well stay warm by keeping active, ducking out of the wind, soaking up the sun, and treating ourselves to snacks by occasional small campfires.
