Every day they will be served 3 Awesome meals and just as many Spiritual meals!! Every afternoon will be filled with activities, such as, low and high obstacle courses, kick ball, volleyball, horseshoes, inflatable jousting matches, and glow in the dark dodgeball!! A Usdan Visit and Information Session is an excellent way to learn about our many summer programs and what makes them both fun and educational. We begin with a guided walk through campus, introducing the music, art, dance, theater, writing, chess, nature and recreation departments. Our administrative leadership will share a few ideas about what shapes the Usdan program, from where we draw our inspiration, and what makes a summer at Usdan unlike any other. We will explain the enrollment process, and you will be given a chance to talk in small groups, or individually, with our knowledgeable team of arts faculty and staff members. We end the visit with a self-guided walk and exploration of the grounds. [] This summer, for our first session of the day, the ALL NEW "Power of Drawing!" summer classes will take you on adventures to places, spaces, and other worlds with specialized drawing workshops. First, we zoom to the farthest reaches of the galaxy with our new friend, Sketch, and his colorful cast of cartoon friends! From astronauts in jetpacks to out-of- this-world alien lifeforms, our students will learn how to compose well-drawn cartoon figures in dynamic poses. Then we tackle a world of monsters, creatures, and creeps - from furry to scaly! For our adventure in Color and Design, each student will create a personalized Japanese kimono, an Escher-like graphic, or a study in primitive art. For the last adventure of the day, all artists will choose either still life drawing or portraiture as a study in technique. We will explore fine art (realistic, stylized, and abstract), graphic design, and cartooning using pastels, colored pencils, and professional marker techniques that will enhance ones analytical and perceptual drawing skills! After your childs afternoon camp they will be escorted to aftercare by Villa Ventures Staff. Here the staff will provide safe, stimulating, and enjoyable experiences. All activities support Villa Academys mission of fostering self-esteem, an inquiring mind, a joy for learning, and a compassionate and ethical spirit. There will be a balance between individual and group activities, quiet time, and recreational time. If you are running late please call 206-234-8885 so we can let your child know. You will be charged a $3/minute late fee after 5:05pm.
