Sports Camp week 5- Basketball (ages 5-12) - Orchard Park Recreation
During the first hour of basketball camp, children will focus on the fundamental skills necessary to excel in the sport including dribbling, passing (chest passes, bounce passes, and overhead passes), shooting (jump shots and full shots), and man to man defense. Agility and hand eye coordination will also be emphasized. During the second hour, children will be able to eat a healthy snack and then participate in a series of cooperative games that will enhance their capabilities of being a good teammate and showing good sportsmanship. The third hour of basketball camp will focus on the basic rules such as traveling, double dribble, charging and blocking, as well as the duties of each position. Additionally modified games of basketball and cooperative games such as knock out, PIG, around the world and 21 will be played during the last hour. As the skills of each child advances, the third hour will consist of more realistic game like situations and a mini tournament based upon age group. Equipment will be provided. New This Year! In this podcasting class, well examine the art of radio storytelling, beginning with the Golden Age of radio dramas in the 30s, 40s, and 50s, all the way up to the radio journalism of today with programs like This American Life, 99% Invisible, and RadioLab. Broadway Camp - Disney Dazzle ( Grades 4 - 6)This exciting camp will feature songs from Disney favorites - Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin Daily vocal, acting and dance lessons will be enhanced by fun theater games and activities. On the last day of camp, family and friends will be amazed by how much has been learned in only five days! Ponte Vedra Inn and Club Golf Lessons for Grades 3-5 only - Bolles Ponte Vedra Beach Campus
The Ponte Vedra Inn and Club Junior philosophy defines a Long Term Athletic Development Approach. This development is laid out within our Junior camp offering focus on three areas: Fundamentals, Learn & Train to Play and Learn & Train to Compete. Within the Level 1 curriculum, students will focus on the basic fundamentals of the game and swing, short game analysis, life values and how they relate golf and entry level contests. **This class will be longer due to travel time for the bus. Students will leave here at 3:20pm, Class is from 3:45-4:45, the students will return to campus around 5:00pm.
