Reading for 9th Grade - Seattle Preparatory School
This course is designed to improve reading ability in comprehension, speed, and vocabulary. The required summer reading book from the appropriate grade level will be the text. Students will have the opportunity to take the summer reading assessment at the end of the course. They will not have to take the assessment in the fall. Taught by Mr. Chris Kiehn. Reading for 9th Grade is open to students who will be a freshman at Seattle Prep in the 2016-2017 school year. 2063240400.0
Adventure Sailing M,W,F ($215 for 1 week, Members) - Nantucket Yacht Club
Please select a minimum of one week. The class, which meets 3 days a week, will have a distinct goal for each day: Long Sail Day - try to sail as far as possible from the club using wind direction, current/tide forecast, and navigational aides. During the following class the student will chart their course on a chart in the Sail Room with pins and yarn, and we can compare progress week to week. Star Chart Day - Students identify skills from the star chart they want to achieve (Anchoring, knots, upwind sailing, etc), and finally Catamaran Day! Students may take this course for a maximum of 4 weeks, and class may not be held if less than 2 children are signed up. The goal of Adventure Sailing is to accumulate the skills for the student to check out a Rhodes 19 on their own. (Note: Adventure Sailing will not be held during Race Week.) 508-228-1400
