Could you suggest camp options for a 10 year old boy?
If you're opening to travel, I would suggest making a list of what you (and your son) are looking for in a camp. Is there a particular activity he likes or would like to try? Is a religious based program important, if so, how important? Do you want it to be an all boys camp or would you prefer a coed experience? I suggest looking at American Camp Association Accredited camps. Also program length is important. If your son is independent and does well away from home you could consider a two-week program. If he does not do well away...

Kid's for Camp 3D Bow Shoot - Holmen, WI
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Youth Office is once again holding its 5th annual "KID'S FOR CAMP 3D BOW SHOOT" on June 11-12 beginning 8:00a.m. - 4:00p.m. each day. Whether you're an avid archer or just a beginner, this beautiful course set with 30 big and small game targets, in the hills and valleys of God’s country will challenge your archery skills while having fun with your hunting buddies and family members. The 3D shoot will take place at “Arrows in the Square Pro Archery Store” located on Casberg Coulee Rd near Holmen WI. 54636. Besides the 3D shoot, we will have food available on the grounds for purchase, novelty games to win tickets for door prizes, beginner archery lessons and so much more. Cost is only $15 (adult) $10 (12-16 years) and children 11 and under shoot for free with paid adult. Divisions with club rules will include: Hunters open, unlimited, limited, traditional, women’s and youth. Teen Plein Air: Art In Motion Camps #1 & 2 - Bow, WA
Choose from Camp #1 July 11th-15th or Camp #2 July 18th-July 22nd. Class Cost per week $87.50. Camp #1: 3:00pm-5:00pm -- Plein Air (**Students encouraged to participate in Part I & II) "Examining our surroundings in detail, seeing beauty not only in the spectacular but also in the smallest growing things" (Lowenfeld) . In addition to work in our cozy studio, small Plein-Air outings will be held at 2 locations during this one week workshop. Students will learn how to connect with their surroundings. Students develop their observation skills and increase their knowledge about the world around them. Parents expected to drive students to the Plein-Air location specified prior to class. Camp #2: 3:00pm-5:00pm -- Plein Air II: Art In Motion This is a stand alone class of can be the second step to week 1. This week will focus on gesture drawing, composition, and how to record what you see when it’s moving. There will be a short lesson with a slide show of Degas and after some skills in the studio are absorbed we will visit the dance studio and draw the dancers in motion! If you think playing computer games is fun, think what a blast learning to program your own games will be. Your imagination is the limit as you use GameMaker software to create your own PC-based video game. Youll learn about creating sprites, objects, events, and actions. Design a room, make it look the way you want, add objects and play your game. We will teach you how to display health, lives, score, and high score tables. Using drag-and-drop programming, youll create an exciting multilevel game you can play with your friends. You will take home your game and the resources on a CD. 901-260-1300

In this session in the Makerspace we will combine two great activities - both provide the camper to express their creativity with tile and glass. Using broken tile pieces, the children will create and build a small mosaic tile table. Then with stained glass they will have a choice to make items such as boxes or sun catchers. Participants in this course will learn the "basics" of child care. Topics will include engaging in age-appropriate activities, safety and security, handling emergency situations and how to manage those hard-earned dollars! Basic child care skills will include diapering, feeding and maintaining a safe environment. Students will learn how to properly administer CPR in a life-threatening emergency, such as choking.
