Raspberry Pi is much more than a low cost, credit-card sized computer, It has the ability to interact with the outside world via GPIO pins, and is being used in a wide array of digital projects, from weather stations to all the way to IoT connected devices. In this camp, students will be introduced to the exciting world of Raspberry Pi. They will learn different elements of Raspberry Pi and how to program them. Amazing Summer Adventure
We felt it was very important for our kids to spend at least a portion of the summer surrounded by nature. They got plenty of that at Moss Hollow! This was a summer of first for our children including first time in a canoe, first time sleeping overnight outside the home, first time camping, first time fishing. Instructor Bio: Angela Howard My name is Angela Howard and I am a fourth grade teacher at Young Scholars of Central PA Charter School. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Penn State in 2011, I taught at Manchester Academic Charter School in Pittsburgh. Last August, I moved back to the State College area to begin a new chapter in my personal and professional life. This past summer, I earned my Masters of Education in Special Education at Walden University. In addition to teaching, I enjoy running each year in the Pittsburgh Half Marathon, Race for the Cure, Run or Dye, and other races to raise awareness for good causes. Throughout the week Children will be learning and doing variety of activities. Children will be expressing their emotions and creativity through art, it will build their confidence and focus through chess and yoga, and children will be relaxing, moving and growing while building flexibility through dance. Let your child expose his/her artistic side as they participate in a variety of activities among dancing, art and craft, yoga and much more. Please Note: Instructor: BayAreaGurukul LLC, Staff. Participants should wear clothing that can get dirty. Half day camps should bring a water bottle and a snack; Full day camp should bring a water bottle, snack and lunch. A non-refundable $15 material fee is payable to the instructor on the first day of class. Classes held at BAG Studio located at 1611 S. Main Street across from Jack In The Box. This program is devoted to educating youth about the importance of healthy living. Participants learn about nutrition and physical fitness through informational speakers, recreational activities and field trips. Participants must attend the first and last week of the program. Parents of participants are required to attend 3 meetings to educate the family on the program and teaching healthy living at home. First parent meeting is June 1st from 6-7p at Banner Childrens Medical Center. Parents are required to attend the pre-camp meeting to sign health screening waivers and receive the camp calendar. No refunds are given for this program. A medical release form must be completed by a physician for each participant by the end of the first week of the program.
