2016 - Camp 4 Kids CIT Try-Outs - Orange, CA
The heartbeat of Camp4Kids is our volunteer staff. After all, without a great staff, who would bring the magic of summer camp to the kids and teens who need it most? Great Counselors aren't just born, they're carefully trained! Our Counselor-in-Training program (CIT for short) is the venue through which we teach teens the skills and expertise necessary to care for campers. CITs must be a minimum of 16-years-old at the time of camp. Though previous camp experience is not required, it certainly helps. After extensive training "down the hill" (outside of camp), CITs are paired with Senior Counselors while in camp, receiving first hand experience and one-on-one training, learning what it takes to be an effective leader while in a supervised and controlled environment. Being a great Counselor comes from years of training as a CIT. Come down and try out! RSVP through private message.

Fashion Illustration for Teens - Lower School
This class is specially designed with teens who enjoy fashion. We will explore the many stages of everyday lives through fashion illustrations, beginning with the basic fashion figures (croquis) and color, using multiple mediums, including prints, fabric and textiles, students will imagine how they would dress for current and future life events, and also gain an understanding of the fashion industry, as well as the impact of technology on fashion. Through class discussions, books, films, and documentaries, students will gain a greater understanding of the fashion world and illustration as a form of self expression. We will also attend the Mets Costume Institutes exhibit on Fashion In The Age of Technology. (516) 750-3104
Stop Animation 9th-12th - Art Unleashed!
Students will learn how to develop a storyline, design a set, create a character out of Plasticine, and create props with a variety of materials to create a short, stop animation movie. 314-628-1024
2nd Session - Harry Potter - YSCP
Bio: Carol Pharo, Harry Potter Drama Club instructor, first explored the adventures of Harry Potter with her drama students at the International School of Amsterdam. Other themes included The Sound of Music, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and The Hobbit (with original music). She has continued working with these favorites in Centre County where she has also directed all-children casts for the operas Amahl and the Night Visitors, LOrfeo, and a ballet version of Winnie the Pooh. Ms. Pharo has taught at the Arts Conservatory, the Joan Kennedy Dance Center, The Music Academy, and the Academy of the Performing Arts. The Harry Potter Drama Club, for grades 3-8, is a young actors training, drawing upon the adventures of Harry, Ron, and Hermione. This drama class will emphasize variety in vocal expressions and timing along with effective posture and gesture. There are parts for everyone, and favorite parts are continually switched, so that everyone has the opportunity to play the character of his/her dreams! Muggsy Bogues Fundamental Basketball Camp: Week 1 - Crews Recreation Center
Local basketball legend Muggsy Bogues returns to Crews this summer with a pair of basketball camps for any children between the ages of 6-13. Muggsy and his staff of experienced counselors will teach campers a variety of different skills through games, tournaments and other activities. They will not only teach them the fundamentals of the game, but allow them to learn in a fun and positive environment! These week-long camps will last from 9:00am until 4:00pm. Lunch is provided.
