LATEST CAMPS NEWS: Basketball Girls 4th - 9th - SCDS
You dont need to travel out of town for a first-rate basketball camp! Experience a FUNdamental basketball camp on our own SCDS campus! The Camp will be Directed by our Head Girls Basketball Coach Bobbi Mock. Coach Mock brings 19 years of coaching experience to this camp and is excited about helping your child develop better basketball skills. This revamped camp has extended hours to ensure development of proper form and fundamentals, including shooting form, footwork, timing the shot, lay¬ups, jump shots, etc. Time will also be devoted to game situations and scrimmages. Emphasis will be placed on the skills needed for basketball success! Coaches from around GA will be guest speakers at camp, including Toby Wagoner from GSU and Fala Blalock from Armstrong, among others. Camp will utilize three SCDS gyms (Demere, Saunders, Old Gym). Music Theater Camp - Ohlook Performing Arts Center
Our most popular camp every summer! We provide a comprehensive program of intensive classes in a wide variety of theater performing arts, each taught by a working professional in that field. Students train for 3 weeks, five days a week, in the 3 disciplines of musical theater - dance, music, and acting in addition to rehearsing a full musical which will culminate in one of our main stage productions. Developing the ability to sustain concentration throughout the process is one of the most important skills that students take away from the program. Along with the daily basic skills work, students will learn and grow attending separate workshops such as audition preparation, bringing songs to life, how to conquer your nerves and life in the business from professionals that are IN the business! This camp is for the serious singing actor. You will work with professionals from the local DFW stages as well as Broadway and Opera! Students start with a kit of wood, steel, aluminum and plastic parts and create their catapult. When students nish theirinventions, they eld test them in a fun and exciting activity. This is a single, full day version of Camp Catapult. It should be registered for once during Spring Break unless the student would like to make a second, different catapult on Tuesday.
