Youth in Emergency Preparedness Camp - Weslaco, TX
This summer from June 19, 2016 to June 23, 2016, the Rio Grande Valley Medical Reserve Corps and the Weslaco Fire Department are hosting a Youth Preparedness Camp. The camp is for Rio Grande Valley teenagers between the ages of 14-18. There are three man components of the Youth Preparedness Camp. Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training – All camp participants (including the adult sponsor) receive the full basic CERT course complete with certification. The basic CERT program is delivered as one component of camp in an effort to educate youth about disaster preparedness and provide them the skills they need to support local first responders in an emergency situation, if needed. This training includes lessons on fire safety, basic first aid, search and rescue, incident command system (ICS), and disaster psychology, among others. In addition to classroom-based lessons, youth are given ample opportunity to practice their skills through hands-on activities, tabletop discussions, and exercises. The CERT training culminates in a large full-scale exercise in which youth allocate resources, attend to live role playing victims, and interact with real first responders. Youth Leaders "Thanksgiving" Fellowship and Business Session - Springf
Hosted this month by Camp Barnabas, providing us a FREE lunch at their office location in Springfield! Leaders will have the opportunity to "connect" with other youth leaders in ministry, and to share ideas and resources! Bring printed material on events you would like to promote to share with the group. You will hear about some great opportunities for ministry through this camp for special needs students. This will also be our "elections" business session at 11:15 prior to lunch. All voting members are encouraged to be present. Also, those who want may join the Coordinator to be praying for our campuses, students, and leaders about 30 min. prior to the start. Sciencecraft - Middle School
This Minecraft-based camp focuses on general scientific principles and how they relate to the world of Minecraft and to the real world. Lessons in botany and biology will teach about the plants and animals that live and grow in Minecraft. Discussions about mineralogy and geology will explore the various gems and crystals found in Minecraft and explain how landscapes are made and formed. This camp also focuses on real life creatures such as Wolves who roam across the game world, just as they do in the real world. Play with fiber arts each day, delving into felting, weaving and dyeing. Games and Science Camp - Camp Talahi
GAS Camp is for all of the kids who just cant get enough of games, sports and science. We will be playing games such as ultimate Frisbee, Handball, Splashball (similar to water polo), along with old favorites like soccer, basketball and volleyball. When our bodies need a rest we will use our minds to create simple machines and science experiments! Designed for campers who have completed grades 5-8. GAS Camp will run concurrently with MADD Camp. Campers will have meals together and occasionally overlap activities like worship and waterfront time, but most of their programming will be separate. 810-844-1499

2016 RVA Spring Break Fishing Camp - Forest Hill Park

Cool Skates Child of Volunteer (COV) - DC8 - Balboa Campus
CHILDREN OF VOLUNTEERS RATE Spin, glide, wiggle and swizzle! Each morning, take a bus from Balboa Campus to the San Diego Ice Skating Rink for a half-hour lesson and two hours of free skating time. Learn to play hockey if it interests you (also open to COV boys age 5-17). In the afternoon, return to camp for more activities, crafts, badge work and fun with friends.
