TECH IT OUT- Robotics I-Stories or Interactive Stories is a hands-on minds on learning experience that enhances students reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through project-based learning and STEM Literacy. STEM literacy relates to a students ability to understand and apply concepts from science, technology, engineering and mathematics in order to solve complex problems. Campers will use LEGO WeDo to constructing their own stories with over 20 main characters models featuring working motors and sensors to choose from; code their models; and explore a series of cross-curricular, theme-based activities that develop their literacy skills of reading, writing, designing, speaking and listening. Elem Super Scratch Week 3 - Merrill Engineering Building
We cannot get enough of Scratch and neither can our campers! This week-long 9AM-3PM day camp for entering 5th, 6th, and 7th graders (note the year older shift from the other Scratch camps) is a follow-on to the Beginning and Advanced Scratch camps. This camp looks at even more advanced topics and dives into more complex projects, finishing with a chance for participants to polish their projects under the guidance of our experienced instructors. Attendees should be enthusiastic about Scratch, self-motivated, and able to handle the longer day. Students should have completed the beginning and advanced camp prior to taking the Super Scratch camp or had some equivalent training. This camp runs from 9AM-3PM. Lunch is provided. 801-585-1726

Uh-oh – you are shipwrecked on a desert island! Work together with your fellow campers to devise a means for collecting food and water, build shelters and bridges, and apply the science behind survival. Use the tools at hand to write a message to send in a bottle. Be careful - you may witness a volcanic eruption! Work together to design a means to escape the island and come home.
