Africans in Diaspora - Fieldston
Only open to students who are currently enrolled in Fall 2015 session The Africans in Diaspora Club will expose students to a variety of cultures while also looking at the many ways that Africa and its people have influenced the broader world. Students will have the opportunity to read, and critically discuss, Margy Burns Knights book, Africa Is Not A Country, with the intent of dismantling stereotypes and developing an appreciation for Africas diverse people, histories, colors, languages and foods. Additionally, students will be actively engaged in the process of learning, playing, dancing, eating and organizing. There is a strong possibility that there will be an international trip (during Spring Break 2016) connected to this club. Club time will be used to prepare for the trip. 212-712-6230
Challenger British Soccer Camp (June) - Age: 4-6 - Grove Park
Join the most popular soccer camp in North America this summer. First Kicks will introduce the fundamentals of soccer through a learning environment. Mini Soccer is more skill building and competitive. Half day camps are for players who want to master more of their core techniques, while the full day camp is for the serious competitor. This camp teaches little chefs to become big hits in the kitchen. Itty Bitty Chefs will show campers what the kitchen is all about. Campers will discover independence and self-confidence as they prepare treats that are as delicious as they are easy to make. Join at anytime. MAC Tennis and Swim - Brookwood School
This summer we are happy to partner with the Manchester Athletic Club for an afternoon of tennis and summer fun. Students will be transported from Brookwood to the MAC each afternoon where the camp will feature an on-court tennis experience rain or shine daily. Tennis campers will improve their strokes and playing skills! There will also be time for open swim and other summer adventure. (Note: Students will be picked up at the MAC at 4:00. Does your childs room need a makeover? This camp allows children to create beautiful pieces that add glam to their room! Each piece becomes a one-of-a-kind creation as campers get to combine many different artistic mediums. They learn canvas painting by completing a monogrammed painted canvas ready to hang. They learn the art of mosaics by creating their own message board. They learn pottery painting and glazing techniques by creating their very own tissue box cover.
