This summer with be 6th year going to Camp Greystone! it is honestly the best experience i have ever had in my life! i have met friends from all over the country, including my best friend that i met at camp greystone she lives about 3 states over but we continue to come back to camp together and try to meet up all much as we can!I would definitely recommend this camp! it is definitely worth the money! i feel like a different person and... Session #6 – “Farm Trackers Camp” - July 18-21, Ages 6-12 Monday – Thursday, 9 am – 2 pm Join us on the farm tracking BIG ANIMALS – Farmer Larry will teach you all about how to track animals on the farm. Go on daily nature hikes to track our "big" farm animals. . Learn how animals help make our work easier - which animals dig our garden and which help clear the land. Daily crafts include making your own "Animal Track" necklace to wear and take home, making and decorating your own Trail Camp walking stick to hike the trail. Not to mention our nature SCAVENGER HUNT! Each day will include visits with all our animals as an assistant farm tracker, running and playing in the big pasture, daily take home crafts, and visits to the Fern Valley Farm kitchen for exciting kid friendly creations. Phun with Phonics - Old Trail School
Phonics provides the groundwork for becoming a successful reader and can be phun!! With the use of 1-2 books per day campers will improve their phonics skills (including: word awareness, syllable awareness, rhyming, sound awareness and comprehension). Each book will be paired with phun phonics activities and a creative craft! Lets have a phabulous time with phonics!! Deep Space Robotics - Highland Park Presbyterian Church
** TUITION IS $255.00 + $50.00 LAB FEE ** Engaging does not even start to describe this camp which combines solid fuel rocketry and Robotics. This NXT-based space adventure is designed for use with LEGO® MINDSTORMS® bricks and software. Our program for the week provides everything needed to facilitate an exciting STEM-based robocamp. STEM stands for: Science-Technology-Engineering-Math, and is a fundamental part of this camp by providing a hands-on minds-on environment. Theyll explore energy supply, transfer, accumulation, conversion and consumption; design and build models and observe the behavior of their models. This is an advanced robotics course and campers should have some experience working with LEGO® MINDSTORMS® components. Campers with no experience should attend Camp Deep Space Robotics. This course will teach students the basics of the history of robotics, along with key components of robots and how they developed over time. Following completion of short web research work, students will work in teams to learn to build robots, to program them and to use various sensors to make them "smart." As students progress, using Lego Mindstorm EV3 kits, they will learn to create more "sophisticated" robots that can do things the simpler ones cannot. Students will be graded on their knowledge of robot history and their components, as well as on their ability to complete specific exercises with the robots. This "hands-on "course is not only fun, but is a great learning experience! Soft Ground Etching (3 classes) - Kala Printmaking Studio
An in-depth course exploring all aspects of soft ground etching and its combination with aquatint, chine colle, and drawing. Students will learn about line and tone etching, shape and texture transfer, and aquatint manipulation. They will create layered prints by the addition of a second plate to the one holding the key design. All levels welcome. Sundays, January 24, 31 & Feb 7 from 11am-5pm $20 Materials Fee payable to the teacher on the first day of class Instructor Bio: Theodora Varnay Jones received her BFA and MFA from The Academy of Fine Arts, Budapest, Hungary.
