Summer Camp Registration will begin Saturday March 21st at 10AM. Sign up for CAMPS including LEARN TO SWIM PROGRAM with the City and County of San Fransisco. This can be done in one of 3 ways: 1. Online at www.sfreconline.org (view entire summer camp 2015 activity guide here) 2. at McLaren Lodge in Golden Gate Park, 501 Stanyan Street (@ Fell) (415) 831-6800. 3. At any neighboring registration site, such as Hamilton Recreation Center. 1900 Geary Blvd (@ Steiner) ***Please make sure you sign up for the correct swim lesson level for your child. If you sign up for the wrong level it could result in a withdrawal without refund for the class. If you are unsure of what level you should be signing up for please contact Assistant Supervisor Tracy Newman (Ford) at Hamilton Aquatic Center (415) 292-2008 and set up a time to have your child tested. We limit all students to a total of two classes for the season, both of which must be of the same level. Chess Camp, Afternoon - Francis W Parker
Chess Wizards introduces students to the magical world of chess. Campers learn how to play and master chess techniques from our renowned Chess Wizards. They learn cool chess openings, midgame tactics (including forks, pins, discovered attacks and more) and endgames concepts. The camp caters to all levels of chess players, and participants are divided into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Wizards. All participants receive a Chess Wizards t-shirt and earn a trophy. Full-day campers receive a chess board their friends can autograph! This class is offered by Chess Wizards (chesswizards.com). Chess campers must bring their own peanut-free bag lunches and drinks. This program combines technical development and fundamental techniques with safety while keeping a major focus on fun! Extra Pointers Kicking, Punting & Specialists Football Camp (Grades 6 - 12) The goal of this camp is to make athletes into solid, competent performers. Camp will expose kickers, punters, holders, and snappers to all aspects of their respective positions: mechanics, technique, game-situation, mental preparedness, and physical training. Campers receive an Extra pointers t-shirt, a printed technique guide by position, and video evaluation. For students interested in attending both Extra pointers camps, June 21-23 & Aug. 2-4 they will receive $50 off the cost of the two camps but must register for the "combo" camp to receive discount. Ever had that urge to fold up that quiz that you didnt do so well on and send it ripping across the room, only to realize youd probably end up sitting in detention for your fine flight! Well have no fear, join Club Scientific for Flyin Fierce where it will be expected that youll fold a phenomenal flying machine and if you cant, then well show you how. Toys, darts, stunts, gliders, even balsa wood flyers will be the focus. No worries, well provide the protective eye wear! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Construction Chaos Think youre a problem solver? Believe you have engineering qualities such as designing, building and testing? Well Club Scientific is coming to test your abilities in all three areas with Construction Chaos! Each week youll design and build various structures, and then test each structure for success or failure! Whether they work (or not) youll have an incredible building experience.
