Math competition camp (Grades 4-5) - The Oakwood School
This summer math camp is intended to prepare students for participation in math competitions at the elementary level. The competitions included in this mathlete preparation include Math Olympiad, Noetic Math Competition, and regional math competitions. Students will utilize questions from previous competitions and other preparatory materials, individually and in groups, to prepare for individual and team competition environments as well as speed round competitions. The goal of this week-long camp is to provide a fun, interactive, and stimulating environment where mathletes can develop their problem-solving abilities, increase the depth and breadth of their math knowledge, and rise to a new level of competitive skill. 2529310760.0

Felted Bags and Purses - Artists Exchange
This 4 week workshop will focus on making bags and purses using a resist method of wet felting. For many, felt is a crafting material sold in squares made out of some mish-mosh of synthetic fibers. Felting is actually extremely natural and is one of the most ancient art forms in mankinds history. It is still a widely used method which can create anything from clothing to toys and even houses. In this class, students will learn the basic process of wet felting which creates wool fabric by layering raw wool fibers, adding warm soapy water and a little elbow grease. This is an inter-generational class. The felting process is simple but can be very versatile which makes it a great opportunity for parents and children to work together side by side. Campers will be introduced and taught the basic skills of passing, shooting, cutting, dribbling and defense. Instruction will be done with drills, relays, lead-up games and contests. We will use 8-foot and 10-foot baskets to allow campers to experience success. Campers will have fun and enjoy learning the basic fundamentals of basketball. Check-in will begin Monday, July 18, at Crisler Center at 8:30 am. Camp activities will begin right after check-in and camp will be dismissed at 4 pm each afternoon (full-day). Those campers that are staying for the half-day option will be dismissed at 12 pm. Camp will begin each morning at 9 am. Lunch will be provided each day at approximately 12 pm, following the dismissal of the half-day campers. 7345466705.0

Fall 2016 will be here before we know it and Field Hockey Tune-Up gives the foundation to be ready for the season. Skill development, fitness training, and teamwork are hallmarks of this established program. Basic skills, stick handling, rules, and field positions are taught through drills and game play. Rigorous conditioning, "eating to play," and strategies for rest and recovery are all part of the program; athletes learn to prepare not just for a single season, but for a life of physical activity. Coach Mike Wellington teaches physical education at Brookwood School. He serves as a U.S.A. Field Hockey Level II Certified Northeast Region coach and coaches U16 Premier Field Hockey for Seacoast United. As the Assistant Athletic Director and a beloved varsity field hockey coach for over twenty years, he has helped players from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade Eight find their physical strengths and talents.
