I sent my teenager to the Taft Summer School in Watertown, CT this past summer and I am so glad I did! She was able to get intensive learning in a school environment, but it wasn't school. Retreat 2016: Endurance - Proclaiming the Everlasting Kingdom - Naches
Each year the WGBC youth and guests spend 3 days in fellowship and under intensive instruction in the Word. The program includes worship services, bonfire fellowship, games, and various activities. This is a unique opportunity to establish new friendships, renew the old, and serve each other. But the most important aspect of this retreat is the time during the services when young people will be united in worship. Another great blessing of this time is the opportunity to interact with our pastors who will be there with us the whole time. This year's theme: The book of Daniel was written to encourage the Jews in exile by revealing God’s program for them. They are reminded that God is sovereign over the affairs of all rulers and nations. A key aspect within the overarching theme of God’s kingly control is Messiah’s coming to rule the world in glory over all men (2:35, 45; 7:13, 14,27). All of the kingdoms of this world will come to an end and will be replaced by the Lord’s kingdom, which will never pass away (2:44; 7:27). Though trials and difficulties will continue for the saints up until the end, those who are faithful will be raised...

#52 High Peaks Adventure (Grades: 9-12) • $425 - Camp Fowler
This is one of our most challenging trips. Journey with your comrades into the High Peaks of the Adirondacks. Our new route for 2016 will take you up and over more of the fabled "High Peaks." You will learn how to work together and take the gifts that the mountains are offering you each day. This trip will reward you with memories that will help shape the rest of your life. 518-631-6789
2016 Baroody Kayak Touring and Fishing Camp - Alexandria
Join Virginia Outside for an introduction to kayaking and kayak fishing. Our staff will instruct you on safety, paddling, and general maneuvering of a sit-on-top kayak. As you learn throughout the week at various locations, we will incorporate fishing, sightseeing and touring while paddling on all types of water. From local lakes and rivers like Bull Run, Fountainhead, and tidal creeks of the Potomac. We will progress to days on lazy rivers that include the Shenandoah, Rappahannock, and Rapidan Rivers. A kayak is a great way to get close to nature and we expect to see bald eagles, ospreys, herons, deer and beaver. When we are fishing our catch will include large and smallmouth bass, catfish, sunfish, crappie, and maybe even the infamous snakehead. Kayaks, paddles, life vests, and fishing gear are provided by Virginia Outside. 804-272-6362

Through project-oriented instruction in our state of the art music lab, students will learn to compose, perform and record their music using interactive music software instead of traditional instruments. KHK: Cowboy Overnight Camp - SD Discovery Center
Qualified staff, experienced horses and a rodeo and roping arena will be the setting for this camp. The atmosphere will encourage campers to advance their riding skills, expand their horsemanship knowledge and enjoy riding. All campers will get to try their hand at rodeo and roping events. Instruction will be provided and all level of riders will be accommodated. Math and science concepts will be integrated into all skill development for campers. Everyone will ride and learn horse and ranch routines. This is an overnight camp. Chuck wagon/Campfire cooking will occur, (weather permitting). Bring a sleeping bag, overnight bag, long pants, sturdy shoes or boots, sunscreen and a jacket. Riding Helmets will be provided. Tennis is open to SDS grades 6th - 8th. PRIOR PLAYING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED. Registration Deadline - Jan. 23, 2016. A late fee ($20.00) will be assessed for registrations processed after the deadline. Uniform top/jersey will be provided by the school, but players will be required to purchase skirt/short for match play. Color/style information will be provided by coach. PLEASE NOTE: If registration numbers exceed roster maximum (8), players will be selected based on a challenge/tryout system. Registration fee will be refunded if necessary.
