Are All Summer Camps Coed?
Not all camps are co-ed. There are some single-gender camps available in addition to traditional co-ed programs.
Single-gender camps are great if parents want their children to focus on empowerment and independence. Many youth today are distracted by the other gender, and this is a chance to give kids a break so that they learn how to be friends with their peers. Many of these programs work with nearby groups so that the campers can get off camp and interact with a variety of people.

2016 - Camp 4 Kids CIT Try-Outs - Orange, CA
The heartbeat of Camp4Kids is our volunteer staff. After all, without a great staff, who would bring the magic of summer camp to the kids and teens who need it most? Great Counselors aren't just born, they're carefully trained! Our Counselor-in-Training program (CIT for short) is the venue through which we teach teens the skills and expertise necessary to care for campers. CITs must be a minimum of 16-years-old at the time of camp. Though previous camp experience is not required, it certainly helps. After extensive training "down the hill" (outside of camp), CITs are paired with Senior Counselors while in camp, receiving first hand experience and one-on-one training, learning what it takes to be an effective leader while in a supervised and controlled environment. Being a great Counselor comes from years of training as a CIT. Come down and try out! RSVP through private message.

Race for the Campers 5K, 10K, and Kid's 1 Mile Adventure Runs - Trout
Get a taste of what Camp Jonah has to offer its campers in these 10k, 5k, and kid’s 1 mile adventure runs; with all proceeds going directly to camp scholarships to help get kids to camp! If you like your races with a little more "fun" than "run" Jonah’s 5k obstacle run is the race for you. Test your limits by wading through mud pits, scaling climbing walls, conquering inflatable obstacles, dodging flying water balloons, and battling many more surprises along the way. Win the race to be crowned camp King or Queen. Be sure to bring your messy clothes/shoes, you may get dirty! For the more serious runners we recommend our 10k scenic run exploring the beauty of Trout Lake. With Mount Adams as your backdrop, this is a race is one you won’t want to miss. Instructor: Zarei This class will provide a positive experience while developing fundamental skills in math and reading. Our daily schedule will be filled with games and activities practicing phonemic awareness, word sorts, reading and listening comprehension. We will explore how mathematical concepts are used in everyday life, including computation, conservation and problem solving. We will have so much fun the students wont notice how much they are learning. Lets build knowledge and confidence while having a fun-filled summer together! This one-week intensive Includes: -The chance to work with stars from Disneys Theatricals & Productions -Learn what it takes to become a triple threat -Professional Audition Workshop -Rehearsal and Performance experience -Expert training! This five-day camp brings the best theatrical, vocal, and dance training from Broadway & New York City directly to you! -Training in: dance, acting, singing, stage combat, and more! -Perform in a final review at the end of the intensive! Siege Alert! Look out, its time for ying tennis balls, eggs and bags of Jell-O as this camp offers participants the opportunity to design and build a table top size catapult or trebuchet. Students start with a kit of wood, steel, aluminum and plastic parts and create their catapult. When students nish theirinventions, they eld test them in a fun and exciting activity. This is a single, full day version of Camp Catapult. It should be registered for once during Spring Break unless the student would like to make a second, different catapult on Tuesday. Other single day classes include Rube Goldberg Machines (9 and older) and Da Vinci Kids (6 to 9). 859-368-7334
