Kid's Camp at VT People's Convention - Montpelier, VT
This Spring the Vermont People’s Convention will bring hundreds of people together as a critical step in building a unified movement for healthy communities and a just society. On April 30 & May 1st at Montpelier High School, individuals and organizations working for disability rights, racial justice, immigrant rights, climate justice and labor unions will come together for a weekend to share, learn and take action together. The organizers of the convention are working hard to make this an intergenerational event with a parallel Youth Activism Summit for teens, and a Kid’s Camp for children 12 and under. To make lasting and far reaching change we need the participation of Grandparents, Parents and their Children! The Kid’s Camp at the People’s Convention will not only provide quality childcare, but will be a fun space for kids to learn about and participate in creating a more just and vibrant world. Through stories and activities, kids will have opportunities to learn and think critically about various struggles for human rights and dignity. With art projects, cooperative games, and nature exploration kids will be encouraged to express themselves and make friends. Limerick Fire Company's 4th Annual YOUTH FIREFIGHTER CAMP June 19-23, 2017; 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Ages 6-13 years of age Why try this Camp? Global Premier Soccer Session 2 - North Yarmouth Academy
Global Premier Soccer-Maine and NYA will partner to offer a comprehensive soccer program on NYAs campus for students ages 8-13. Each day will focus on a different aspect of the game including passing and receiving, ball control, attacking/defending principles and shooting. The camp will conclude with a mini World Cup tournament on Friday afternoon which parents will be encouraged to attend. Alongside this, we will be running a Coaches Challenge where the students will compete against their coaches with prizes on the line. Shooting Basics - Next Level Gym
Shooting Basics is the first of 3 programs under the Shooting Fundamentals Series. Designed to help athletes develop or improve their shooting form. Shooting Basics will teach players correct footwork, body positioning and ball placement as they execute shots from various positions on the court. Step in shots, shots off the dribble and off the catch will be the concentration in this program. Players will also work on range shooting and free throw positioning and routine. Each player will build the muscle memory to consistently shoot with control and confidence. Once players complete this program they will be able to enroll in the second program under the Shooting Fundamentals Block - Shot Breakdown. Program consists of 6 - 1 hour sessions. This intensive 2-week course is for teens aged 12 to 18 who are working professionally. This conservatory offers a rigorous, pre-college curriculum of movement, voice, improv, and scene study. Calling all young composers! Heres a camp for you to meet other young composers and share your passion for creating music. Gain the tools you need to grow as a composer. Study the works of living and historic composers to understand how other composers think and solve problems. Receive coaching from MacPhail composition faculty on recent and current works. Hear your compositions performed by professional musicians. You will be asked to submit a score for review prior to the camp. Space is limited, register early! Students in the Composition Camp may opt to also enroll the in the optional Composition Camp Elective: Theory and Counterpoint for an additional fee.
