Chicago Red Stars Girls Soccer Camp - Olympic Park
Red Stars Academy summer day camps are led by current Red Stars players and top level licensed coaches. Every participant works on a host of specific skills focusing on dribbling, passing & receiving, and shooting while being inspired by the professional players and coaches to reach their full potential. In addition, during every session, time is also spent on speed and agility training. Technique Swim Academy is a summer swim camp at Harvard University for children who are interested in swimming at the club, high school or collegiate level, as well as those interested in the sport for recreation. Supervised by Harvard Head Coaches Stephanie Morawski and Kevin Tyrrell and Northeastern Head Coach Roy Coates, Technique Swim Academys roster of experienced instructors teach campers proper swim technique and help them achieve their personal best through concentrated swimming instruction. Each day, we focus on one competitive stroke and reinforce technique through demonstrations, practice drills and daily videotape sessions. Our goal is to provide an atmosphere where swimmers are excited by the sport and eager to learn about all facets of competitive swimming. 617-484-0550
Session II Girls Basketball - Cornerstone University
Grades 7-11 (Overnight/Commuter Camp) Commuter campers follow the same daily schedule as the overnight campers. They are free to leave after league play (9:00PM) Check-in will be Monday morning from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM in the Bernice Hansen Athletic Center. Please look for postings to help make this time easier and more convenient for all. Parents, we will register your child as quickly as possible so that you are able to get to work on time. Each day we will have fundamental and team practice in the morning. Free time will be from 2:30 to 4:45. Campers may go back to their dorm to relax, play pool, ping-pong or stay in the gym and watch the camp counselors play basketball. Dinner is from 4:45 to 5:30 with league play from 6:00 to 9:00. If you are a commuting camper attending an overnight camp week, the cost of your dinner meal is not included in the camp tuition you paid. Therefore, you may purchase a dinner meal plan for the week at the time of registration. Instructor: Hawley Session 5: Explore the Great Outdoors III. Camp Collegiate is a fast-paced, fun-based learning experience that is meant to make summer days fly by with fun activities. Boys and girls in third through eighth grade spend their days with friends and counselors doing all of the typical camp things: swimming, cooking out on a camp fire, canoe trips, arts and crafts, having treats, horseback riding, games … and a lot of not-so-traditional things: feeding and caring for snakes and hamsters; studying ecosystems and astronomy; competing in science challenges; building woodworking and electronics projects. Fun off-campus trips will include canoeing down the Fall River, visiting the Oklahoma salt flats, going to Laser Quest, the Alley, Ice Skating, Tanganyika, the Sedgwick Co. Zoo, and All-Star Adventures. Kids often say that great memories are made in this camp and its one of the best parts of their summer! Each day at camp begins at 9:00 AM with a game of Capture the Flag and ends at 3:00 PM with a fun closing activity where the Happy Camper for the day is announced. Express yourself! with Nelli Shevelkina Become an artist for a week in our art studios – dive into extreme sketching, painting, collage and sculpting. Work with different art media and learn how to create some art materials from scratch. Enhance drawing and painting skills by working on projects from observation. Discover and discuss masterworks. Experiment with many media choices and ideas from your imaginations. Projects include portraits, figures, sketching architecture and landscape outdoors, creating mini murals, collage, and 3-D multi media fabrications. Note: Includes a field trip to the Yale Art Gallery to view artwork and learn about several art media and techniques. Fun with Metal with Connie Pfeiffer Make jewelry and mini-sculpture with copper sheet metal and wire to wear or hang. Stamp, fold, hammer, bend, cut, twist and even heat metal to create pendants, medallions and forms from nature such as pea pods and leaves. Students will explore using basic hand tools, especially hammers, mallets, cutters, files, pliers and torches (one-on-one with instructor) to create works in metal.
