Tribal Camp is an exciting Christian camping experience for middle school students. Tribal Camp offers exciting trips, adventures, many unique opportunities, and lots of fun mixed in with Christian values and lessons all in a community setting. The hand picked staff will become role models and friends students will talk about all year long. All of this takes place in our Out Camp area. Students can attend one week, or for the best experience, they can choose to attend both weeks. This Christian camp has helped to instill a love of Christ for my 12 year old daughter. Along with the Christian focus, she also enjoyed traditional camping activities. Sunshiners enjoy a variety of activites under the supervision of our trained professional staff. Each Sunshiner will experience a sampling of golf, tennis, swimming, soccer, basketball, arts and crafts and many more exciting games! All necessary equipment is provided. Your Sunshiner will have bundles of fun, make lots of new friends and learn the fundamentals of the sports offered at camp. Campers will enjoy some girl time, Fancy Nancy style! Each day will begin by reading a Fancy book and keeping a journal of Fancy new words. Campers will make fancy crafts and pamper themselves with painted fingers and toes. They will make tutus, hair accessories and jewelry and other fancy things and will end the week with a fantastically fancy tea party! Vocal at JazzFest Jazz Camp-Commuter - Augustana University
This year, a new vocal component has been added to the camp! Vocalists will learn to sing with an ensemble, combo and develop jazz singing skills. Special lessons will be available such as style, interpretation, vocal technique, introduction to music theory, scat singing and more. Plus, top vocalists will be featured with the jazz combos at JazzFest! Space is limited for vocalists! Vocal applicants will have to audition before final acceptance Audition Criteria: 1. A standard jazz tune (Fly Me to the Moon, Stormy Weather, etc.); please bring a copy of the sheet music for the accompanist 2. Auditionees will be required to perform range and tonal memory tests. 3. Auditions may take place in person on the campus of Augustana University with Dr. Russell Svenningsen, by submitting a private YouTube, or audition via Skype. 4. To set up your audition, contact Dr. Svenningsen at: Tuition includes a camp t-shirt, lunch and dinner, some fun evening activities, plus a JazzFest pizza party! *A commuter is a camper who is not sleeping on campus and does not eat breakfast. 605-335-6101
